One ASY Ambassador Family shared: Our family has been havingan amazing time in Dallas. This was our family's best pre-deployment leave ever! It has been a great way to spend qualitytime together before my Husband leaves for Afghanistan. Our fam-ily can't thank you all enough! We really appreciate everything.

Final thoughts...From the Desk of Executive Director Paul Steffens:

As you can see from the January events highlighted in this SNAPSHOT, theyear started with a BANG! We want to express our appreciation to BellHelicopter Company for their generosity in funding a trip to the ArmedForces Bowl for hundreds of military families A wonderful way to saythank you to military families for serving this great country. I also want tothank the members of Avant Garde who jumped in to assist Sam the Cook-ing Guy in providing an outstanding meal for the patients at the NavalMedical Center.. . . .Speaking of a real treat, Bravo Zulu to Carter Clothingand Operation Little Feet for truly making the day for new military babies.Their generosity means so much to military families. Thanks to our many

generous donors, we were able to announce at our annual Board of Man-agement Dinner that an average of 9,579 individuals participated in ourprograms each month in 2011. Without these donations and the assistanceof hundreds of volunteers, we could not provide these programs. Speakingof volunteers, the members of the American Sewing Guild have completedover 4,200 Operation Kid Comfort Quilts for military families and were rec-ognized as our Volunteers of the Year. Last, but not least, I want to expressmy personal appreciation to the fantastic ASYMCASD staff and the mem-

bers of our Board of Management and Civilian Advisory Committee. Theymake an amazing team.
