SCAF Approves a Presidential Elections Law

SCAF has approved the presidential elections law after implementing a number of

amendments to the draft. The law is passed after four amendments have been implemented

upon a Supreme Constitutional Court.

The first amendment was to grant the first vice president of the Supreme Constitutional

Court the authority to head the High Presidential Elections Commission in the absence of the

president of the Constitutional Court.

The second amendment, however, was to grant the political parties who are represented

in the parliament the right to nominate one of their members in case of the death or withdrawal

The third amendment was to grant the presidential commission the right to establish

guarantees that every eligible voter votes only one time.

Facebook We are all Khaled Saeed

Ahmed Saleh: Anyone who watches the parliaments of real democratic states will know that the altercations in the People’s Assembly are not something to be ashamed of.

Tomorrow, we will all go to Tahrir Square… not to call on the Army to leave… not to undermine Egypt’s interests… we believe that the revolution is peaceful… we reject any attacks on people or on public or private property… tomorrow, we want SCAF to leave democratically… we want the Egyptian Army to quit the political life for the first time in sixty years and to let the people decide their own fate through the elections without giving privileges to any quarter. We respect the historic role of the military institution in defending Egypt’s soil… tomorrow; we will call for the election of a new president in April before the constitution is drafted, as stipulated in the constitutional amendments on which a referendum was held on March 14, 2011. Honor to the martyrs. The revolution continues.

https://www.facebook.com/events/154366011342159/

Please, stay away from police stations, military zones and vital institutions during the marches and protests… please, avoid any brawls that could develop into clashes… please, handle quietly and rationally any suspicious elements, which could have infiltrated the protesters to turn them against each other or incite them to commit violent acts. Peacefulness is a moral choice and is the revolution’s distinguished trait.

I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully preserve the principles of the 25 January Revolution and will do the best of my ability to achieve its goals and maintain its peacefulness; work for the revolution’s victims; respect the will and choice of the Egyptian people; guard honestly the freedom, dignity and pride of Egypt and its people; and resist injustice, suppression and corruption as long as I live.

Proposed chant for tomorrow by Baraa Ashraf: president before constitution, we will not wait for six months.

After moments, we will publish a video about the first 100 protesters who gathered in Mostafa Mahmoud Square on January 25, 2011. It will be posted for the first time.

Why don’t you just be patient for another six months, it’s not a big deal! What does it mean to elect a president before the constitution, who will determine the president’s powers? You are creating a new tyranny! Why are you insisting on forcing your opinion? If you are one of those who pose these questions or interested to find convincing answers to them, please read this working paper: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ohbRg4d1cDoRnDgRI7uc6N--KNtT9nXDt1qbcSAGBTE/edit?hl=en_US&pli=1

We want to think about creative slogans for tomorrow. We want them to talk about transferring power and holding the presidential elections before the constitution and respecting the results of the March 19 referendum. We want them to reiterate the legitimacy of the parliament. We hope the parliament exercises its powers fully and achieves the revolution’s demands. Any ideas?

The first hours of January 25, 2011, in Mostafa Mahmoud Mosque. They were few but kept chanting. Did they have any idea about what was to come? They are Egypt’s heroes.

Twitter Wael Abbas:

We have turned into Iran!! An MP said America is the state of infidelity!!! Those who elected you shall rotten in hell!!!

Tantawi has lifted the emergency state just like he did when he halted military trials!!!

Source: a member staff at Wael el-Arashi’s show told him we want to interview by phone the “Liars Movement” in New York, he told her I am against those who curse Egypt abroad!!! Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I hate those who meddle into a conversation and change the subject of the discussion.

The atmosphere in the square is fine despite mud ponds.

The Muslim Brotherhood is intercepting anti-SCAF chants and shouting “Allah is Great.”

The Muslim Brotherhood has erected a large ugly platform but they will reportedly dismantle it.

People are telling me the Muslim Brotherhood has chanted “the Army and people are one hand”, but personally, I have not heard anything.

What is going on in Abbassiya?

The Abbassiya feud is between two large families.

The vendors in Tahrir Square are absurd. They are acting as if they are the big event and we are just stalling them.

The Muslim Brotherhood is liars. It is not dismantling the platform; it brought large speakers and installing them now!!!

The Army deployed large reinforcements outside Maspero. I captured them on video.

The sun is shining and warm, unlike yesterday.

Shame on the media. It is reporting that MPs Hamzawi and Nagar are leading marches in Nasr City and Heliopolis. Hamzawi is not fit to be leader but a pimp!!!

Dear new tweeps, why are most of you ignorant and lame??? Please shut up and watch and learn!!!
