FASHIONISTAS PAINT THE TOWN RED Christian Louboutin unveils The Canadian Collection

TORONTO – Baby, itʼs cold outside. For the style elite, braving the Canadian

winter usually means huddling in front of a roaring fire, clutching summertime

stilettos. This year, embrace winter with superior Canadian style. Holt Renfrew

and Christian Louboutin have collaborated on The Canadian Collection, a line of

new snow boots. It will launch on Nov. 13, 2010.

“Canadian style kings and queens will finally have a fashionable way to combat

winter weather,” explained Mark Derbyshire, president, Holt Renfrew. “Weʼre

proud to associate Christian Louboutinʼs iconic red soles with the luxurious Holt

Renfrew brand!”

The collection includes three styles of boots to be sold exclusively at Holt

Renfrew. Five years in the making, the collection uses patented new technology.

The womenʼs styles include a heeled and flat version, while the menʼs style is a

new take on an old classic. In a patriotic twist, the iconic red Louboutin sole will

be imprinted with the Canadian maple leaf.

“There is no need for snow boots to be ugly,” said Christian Louboutin, designer.

“For years I have seen Canadians traipsing about in those horrid sheepskin

boots. I am putting an end to that awful trend with this new collaboration.”

Canadian supermodel Shalom Harlow has signed on as the official

spokesperson. Pre-sales of The Canadian Collection, which can be viewed

online at www.thecanadiancollection.ca, have exceeded expectations.
