The hope is that this event, which will have celebrity athletes competing against each other in field-day type events, will show these young people who are struggling with their identities that their role models support them, and they should love themselves for who they are. Attendees of the Trevor Games will get the opportunity to meet, take pictures, and talk with all the celebrity athletes that are to attend the event. The Trevor Games will be co-hosted by David Beckham and Megan Rapinoe. Beckham and Rapinoe will be the captains for the two competing teams of celebrity athletes. Team rosters will be released on a future date during a live televised event on ESPN. Trevor Games uniforms will be available to be purchased on Nike’s website. Individuals will have the opportunity to buy uniforms identical to those of an athlete participating in the event, or customize the uniform with their own name and number of choice. Tickets for the event will go on sale after the holiday season in the second week in January. Beckham and Rapinoe are both honored to have been asked to host the Trevor Games. Beckham said, “I think showing these kids love and support is the first key step to them loving and accepting themselves. Being a part of something that I know will save at least one life, is a feeling beyond what words can express.” To Rapinoe, the Trevor Games is something that hits close to home. She explained, “As a lesbian athlete, I know exactly what some of these kids, which The Trevor Project is trying to reach, are going through because I was there myself once. This time in their lives is not easy; it’s really hard, and I just hope that this event will allow all who attend to enjoy themselves in an energy-filled environment that is raising awareness for something that I don’t think gets enough attention in the media.”

Certain written and oral statements made or incorporated by reference from time to time by Nike or its representatives in this report, other reports, filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, press releases, conferences, or otherwise, are "forward-looking statements" within the meaning of the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 ("the Act"). Forward-looking statements include, without limitation, any statement that may predict, forecast, indicate, or imply future results, performance, or achievements, and may contain the words "believe," "anticipate," "expect," "estimate," "project," "will be," "will continue," "will likely result," or words or phrases of similar meaning. Forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties which may cause actual results to differ materially from the forward-looking statements. The risks and uncertainties are detailed from time to time in reports filed by Nike with the S.E.C., including Forms 8-K, 10-Q, and 10-K, and include, among others, the following: international, national and local general economic and market conditions (including the current Asian economic problems); the size and growth of the overall athletic footwear, apparel, and equipment markets; intense competition among designers, marketers, distributors and sellers of athletic footwear, apparel, and equipment for consumers and endorsers; demographic changes; changes in consumer preferences; popularity of particular designs, categories of products, and sports; seasonal and geographic demand for Nike products; the size, timing and mix of purchases of Nike's products; fluctuations and difficulty in forecasting operating results, including, without limitation, the fact that advance "futures" orders may not be indicative of future revenues due to the changing mix of futures and at-once orders; the ability of Nike to sustain, manage or forecast its growth and inventories; new product development and introduction; the ability to secure and protect trademarks, patents, and other intellectual property; performance and reliability of products; customer service; adverse publicity; the loss of significant customers or suppliers; dependence on distributors; business disruptions; increased costs of freight and transportation to meet delivery deadlines; changes in business strategy or development plans; general risks associated with doing business outside the United States, including, without limitation, import duties, tariffs, quotas and political and economic instability; changes in government regulations; liability and other claims asserted against Nike; the ability to attract and retain qualified personnel; and other factors referenced or incorporated by reference in this report and other reports. The risks included here are not exhaustive. Other sections of this report may include additional factors which could adversely impact Nike's business and financial performance. Moreover, Nike operates in a very competitive and rapidly changing environment. New risk factors emerge from time to time and it is not possible for management to predict all such risk factors, nor can it assess the impact of all such risk factors on Nike's business or the extent to which any factor, or combination of factors, may cause actual results to differ materially from those contained in any forward-looking statements. Given these risks and uncertainties, investors should not place undue reliance on forward-looking statements as a prediction of actual results. Investors should also be aware that while Nike does, from time to time, communicate with securities analysts, it is against Nike's policy to disclose to them any material non-public information or other confidential commercial information. Mission Statement: “The mission of The Trevor Project is to end suicide among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning young people. The organization works to fulfill this mission through four strategies: 1. Provide crisis counseling to LGBTQ young people thinking of suicide. 2. Educate young people and adults who interact with young people on LGTBQ-competent suicide prevention, risk detection and response. 4. Advocate for laws and policies that will reduce suicide among LGBTQ young people.” Trevor Games NIKE, Inc. will host the “Trevor Games,” a celebrity athlete endorsed sporting event to benefit The Trevor Project, on Sunday, May 22, 2016, 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The event will take place at Madison Square Garden, 4 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York, New York 10001. The Trevor Games will be co-hosted by professional football players, David Beckham and Megan Rapinoe. Professional athletes will compete in field-day type events in two teams. Team rosters will be determined when team captains, Beckham and Rapinoe, hand select their teams on a live televised event airing in March on ESPN. Nike team uniforms (jerseys and shorts) will be available to be purchased prior to the event on Nike’s website and at the Trevor Games. Uniforms will have the option to be customized to include an individual’s name and number of choice. They will be available in both children and adult sizes. A portion of uniform sales will go to benefit The Trevor Project. After games are concluded, all athletes will have meet-and-greets where attendees can meet and take pictures will the athletes. A portion of food and beverage sales at Madison Square Garden the day of the event will support The Trevor Project. One hundred percent of ticket sales will go to The Trevor Project. Tickets will be available for purchase January 9. For more information visit http://www.nike.com/us/en_us/ or http://www.thetrevorproject.org/. Support the Cause Showing youths that identify as LGBTQ—especially athletes—support is critical for them learning to love themselves at this time in their lives. Suicide is the third leading cause of death among 15-24 years old LGBTQ members. Of the entire LGBTQ youth community, 30-40 percent have attempted suicide. LGBTQ youths are four times more likely to commit suicide than their homosexual peers. Young LGBTQ members feel ashamed of themselves and are scared to accept their identities because they don’t feel accepted by their communities. The sports industry is one that is still learning to accept its LGBTQ members, making young LGBTQ athletes feel sheltered and unwelcomed. Nike owns 47 percent of the athletic retail industry with the highest amount of celebrity athlete endorsements. The Trevor Games is the first major step in setting a trend for the sports industry to openly accept its LGBTQ members, and in hopes to make young LGBTQ athletes feel comfortable and embraced.
