The 1990’s saw mass theatre closures throughout Russia due to financial duress. Beginning in early 2000’s, with an improving economy, there began resurgence of moviegoers. Seeing this success, Russia began distribuLng movies previously released in 1990’s to a public that would see them for the very first Lme. Some of the stars from Hollywood’s past now enjoy tremendous fame in Russia, and Red Square Media Corp intends to provide interview access and edit copy to this new market.

-‐Throughout the 90s due the closures and financial duress there was mass movie theaters closures and limited Pcket sales. With the box office booming again in Russia there’s been a resurgence of movies previously released in 1990’s. These movies are being released for the very first Pme in Russia. -‐The 2012 combined Russian and Foreign box office was over $1.3 billion, a 15% increase from 2011, and an expected increase are greater than 15% for 2013, based on current box office receipts. -‐Local Russian made films box office gross declined nearly 5% as interest in Western based entertainment increases rapidly -‐ Average movie Lcket cost ($7.25) up 2.5% -‐ A total of 146 films grossed more than 1 million and 39 took in more than $10 million -‐ Walt Disney Studios/Sony Pictures was the most successful Russian distributor with a gross of $312 million achieved by 28 releases and the top grossing one being the Avengers at $43.7 million. -‐ The highest grossing Russian film was “Dukhless” which brought in only $13.4 million.
