Millions of rands have been invested into the infrastructure
of Hazeldean to date, with good progress already
made on the plann ing of variou s new roads that
will provide access between the N4 and Pretoria East.
A consortium of 6 developers, including Abland and
Sable Homes, are working tirelessly to achieve this.
Tshwane municipality has recently taken over the Hazeldean
area from Kungwini and the developers have had various
meetings with the Roads Authorities, Gautrans, Sanral,
Tshwane Roads Departments and TRAC, regarding the
road planning. The planned roads include a complete
diamond interchange for the PWV17 and N4 crossing,
the PWV17 provincial highway, and other roads such as
The need for these roads has originated mainly from the
rapid growth the area is currently experiencing. These roads
will greatly alleviate the pressure on Solomon Mahlangu
Below: A Master Plan of the current and future developments in the node
Approval has already been obtained for the N4/PWV17
interchange and the northern section of the PWV 17 , with
approval of the southern part of the PWV 17, towards
Graham Road, expected soon. The PWV 17 will be
will be constructed up to the R21 and will link into
Graham Road in the vicinity of the Willows Quarry.
Another important road to be built will be Hazeldean
Boulevard, which will link Ridge Road with Graham Road
(in the vicinity of the Lombardy Office Park), thus eliminating
eliminating the need to travel down Silver Lakes Drive.
Hazeldean Boulevard will be a Class 3 double lane road.
Another massive accolade for the developers of the node
is that they have obtained buy-in from a substantial and
prominent local investor to complete the first phase of
the Hazeldean Regional Mall (marked with a 6 in master plan
below). This mal l wi l l be substant ia l in s ize .
In addition to the Regional Mall, negotiations are also
underway to construct a fully-fledged hospital in
Hazeldean in the near future, which will be supported by
imminent Frail Care Facility in The Retreat, as well as the
existing Intercare Sub-Acute and Day Hospital in Hazeldean.
On a green note, much has been done to ensure that
Hazeldean will be an eco-friendly development, with millions
of rands already spent on indigenous plants and trees,
integrated water-management systems and the
preservation of the wetland areas in the node.
The developers are now also opening a nursery in the area,
where indigenous plants and trees will be removed from
areas earmarked for future development, and
relocated to the nursery. They will be kept at the nursery
and then be used again in future developments.

During the dry winter months fire safety becomes
especially important, and every household should have a
“safety check plan”. The person who is the last to leave the
house should enter each and every room and make sure
that all appliances are switched off. The same procedure
should be repeat before going to bed at night.
It is recommended by many to install a fire alarms system
and carbon monoxide(CO) detector in your home.
In addition you should consider buying a fire blanket

Onlangse Curro Gospelfees bekoor gehoor
skool was daar ‘n waentj ie waar kos, klere ,
Daar was ‘n hele
