~ REFLECTION ~
Try not to let today’s readings be
completely overshadowed by your familiarity with
the passage from John 3:16. There is so much here
for contemplation and prayer, gratitude and
celebration. Indeed, God so loves the world that
God has acted before in history through Cyrus of
Persia, and even today through the Holy Spirit in
our own lives. As we listen to these Holy Scriptures
today, in what ways do they remind us of how God
acts in our own lives?
We are now past the halfway point of Lent.
How are your Lenten practices going? Did you
know it’s not too late to start? Indeed, the message
of today’s liturgy is just that—the captives in
Babylon are released, and “God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son.” If God’s love is so great,
it’s even enough for those of us who got a late start
on Lent. It’s never too late to turn to the Lord.
~ REFLEXION ~
