European cultural heritage on your TV

Smart TV viewers and smartphone owners can embark on a virtual tour of a city or region’s history and culture.

Users do not have to be tech savvy, the TV application is easily accessed via the TV screen and simple enough to navigate with a remote control.

A smartphone can be used to access additional information and as an alternative to the remote control.

Target Audience

TV viewer discovers an application from a known broadcaster on Smart TV containing cultural heritage videos and information that can be watched in the living room on the TV. A smartphone or tablet can be used to access additional information or as an alternative remote control.

The application could for example contain archive videos about the Berlin wall enhanced with items from Europeana encouraging viewers to immerse themselves in the cultural heritage of the locations.

Users can choose between information presented along a timeline or they can chose to watch the information presented as thematic tours through locations in the city.
