Fr. Emmanuel Christian Plancher (Fr. Christian) is from Jean Rabel, Haiti where he was ordained in the Company of Mary Order in April 1996 at the Cathedral of Port de Paise. He is a linguist and

loves preaching. He will be with us for a few weeks and possibly longer.

DEACON JACOB ____________

Deacon Jacob Jaks grew up in Tallahassee at Blessed Sacrament Parish. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the

University of Florida, studying History and Classical Studies. He entered seminary in 2011 and was ordained to the

diaconate on April 14 of this year. He will be ordained a priest of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee after

graduation from seminary in the Spring of next year. He will be with us for the summer.

Please help us in welcoming Fr. Christian and Deacon Jacob to our St. Rita Family!!!

Ministry to the Sick and Shut-Ins

Please call the parish office to arrange for Communion to the Sick and Shut-Ins and for the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Parishioners who are entering the hospital are asked to let the parish office know in

advance if possible.

Sacramental Preparation

Baptism - Parents wishing to have their child baptized at St. Rita or Christ the King should attend a Baptism Class. To make an appointment, please call the Church Office.

Marriage - Couples wishing to be married at either St. Rita or Christ the King must contact the pastor 6 months in advance of the proposed date. Marriage preparation is required by the Diocesan Marriage Preparation Policy. ************************************************ Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers and Ministers of Hospitality are always needed for each Mass. If you are interested in serving in one of these ministries, please call the parish office.

God Squad Reflections: God and Neighbor Time

So, we love God. That is the easy part. Truly loving our neighbor has a cost that many of us would rather

not pay. We have to enter into the messiness of relationships, examine our unforgiving hearts, and be pulled out of our complacencies. Please, let me go back to having just God and me time…… and I will

sprinkle a little niceness on my neighbors.

Jesus calls us to love God with our whole being and to love our neighbor as ourselves. These

commandments are inseparable and intimately linked to each other as if they were one.

Our love of neighbor flows out of our love of God. If we fail to love our neighbor, then our love for God

would be empty. Do I live with compassion for others, for creation, for myself, or do I set up boundaries to

limit my responsiveness? Do I see myself in the other, the stranger, the broken one, or am I quick to shut down any connection I might have with

these neighbors?

Women’s Club Ministry will be on summer break June, July and August and

will resume September, the last Wednesday of every month from Noon to 1pm.

St. Anne’s Sewing Ministry will be on summer break June 20th- July 11th

and will resume July 18th
