Leader: Ray Bouchard - 893-7314The Kunjamuk is a slow meandering Adirondack stream located just southof Speculator along routes 8 & 30. We will launch at Kunjamuk Bay andpaddle upstream about 4.5 miles north to Elm Lake then reverse direction,paddling back with the current. There will be some beaver dams along theway, most of which can be scooted over with a short burst of speed. How-ever it is possible that you will have to get out of your canoe or kayak afew times so be prepared for wet feet. The round trip distance is about 9 -10 miles. The pace will be leisurely, so slow paddlers are more than wel-come. I plan on stopping for a short hike to Kunjamuk Cave as we makeour way upstream to Elm Lake. You must have a PDF in order to partici-pate. You might also consider bringing a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.You might want a windbreaker and gloves if the air is cool and it wouldnʼthurt to put a change of clothes in a waterproof bag in your canoe or kayakjust in case.
