THE ANNUAL MEETING of the Lake Luzerne Cemetery Asso-ciation will be held on May 19, 2014 at 7 PM in the Town of LakeLuzerne large meeting room.

Are You a Hadley-Luzerne School Taxpayer? Before voting on the School Budget and Proposition I funding

for reconfiguration on May 20, we need answers to these ques-tions!-Why do we need 3 principals and a superintendent? Our totalenrollment Pre K-12 is under 800 students.-Why is realignment costing $560,000 (probably more, projectsnever come in on budget)? Estimated cost was originally$200,000. All thatʼs required is to change existing playground soitʼs safe for the younger children and provide handicap bathroomsa Hyland Drive school.-Why are new science labs being added to elementary wing? Thehigh school wing already has 4 labs (when they were built a fewyears ago, taxpayers were told they would serve about 1200 stu-dents). Are they now being used every day, every period, for justlabs?-Why are they worried about ʻmixingʼ age groups when for yearsPreK-2 has been mixing with them when going to gym class, theauditorium, cafeteria and riding the same buses for years?-Why are we doing this building project and spending all thismoney?-Why is $375,000 of our Reserve Fund being used to help fundthis building project? What happens when we have an emer-gency expense and our reserve fund is drained?

I do agree that realignment makes sense. I attended a Grades7-12 Jr/Sr High. It worked well. But WHY do we have to spendall this money? You can ask these questions at the BOE public meeting on May12 @ MS LGI 6:30pm.

A CARʼS WIPERS NEED CARE TO KEEP THINGS CLEAR(NAPSI)—Windshield wipers may be among the most overworked and underappreciated equipmenton your car.For example, while drivers depend on their wipers for visibility in rain, sleet and snow, many donʼtpay attention to them until they canʼt see clearly out of the windshield. As a result, say experts, theyend up endangering their own safety as well as that of fellow travelers.“Windshield wipers take a beating—not just because of normal use, but also extreme temperatures, ultraviolet light, car waxes, tree sap, road tar and even pollutants,” says wiper specialist Chris Ver-mette.A good rule of thumb is to replace blades at least yearly, or as soon as you notice a streak, skip orsmear. Itʼs an easy do-it-yourself project, but damaged wiper arms and motors may need profes-sional attention.

Signs Of WearThe most common signs and causes of worn wiper blades include:• Streaking: The rubber squeegee dries, hardens and cracks, or there is debris on the windshield.• Skipping: The blade develops a curvature from damage or lack of use.• Wearing: Excessive use and rounded—not squared—rubber edges.• Splitting: Rubber deteriorates and separates from the frame because of sun and solvent damage.

Tips On Preserving BladesWhile no wiper blade lasts forever, ACDelco Professional Service Center Program technicians rec-ommend these tips to prolong blade life and preserve your visibility:• Clean your windshield at every fill-up.• Wipe the rubber blade with a damp paper towel to remove loose dirt.• Never use windshield wipers to remove ice from your windshield. The stress can damage theblade as well as the motor. Use an ice scraper or defroster.

• In the winter, pull up wipers to prevent the squeegee from icing and sticking to the glass.

• Use a quality washer solvent; cheap ones are full of alcohol, which dries the rubber.

Zoe

When she is not snuggling with you or sitting on your lap, she becomes a great hunter, chasing her squeaky

mouse or searching for bugs to conquer. She also enjoys having dinner with you; she will share her food with you and expects you to share your food with her. If you are looking for an affectionate companion that will protect you from insects and will occasionally dine with you Zoe is for you! Like all HOPE cats, Zoe is spayed, up to date

on all vaccinations, worming and tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV.

CharlieCharlie is a 1-1/2 year old charming black and white male cat. He has a cute mustache we thought looked like Charlie Chaplin, hence his name. He has an impressive purr, kittenish meow chirp and is always reaching out to be petted. Charlie was abandoned at a farm,

barely surviving having little to eat and inadequate shelter. He was as starved for affection as he was for food. In his foster home he has become an avid lap cat and a faithful com-

is entertained for hours. Won’t you please give Charlie what he deserves, a warm home with the regular meals, a comfy bed to sleep in and plenty of toys to play with?
