MAY 26, 2019 SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
Grant, almighty God, that we may celebrate with heartfelt devotion
these days of joy, which we keep in honor of the risen Lord, and that
what we relieve in remembrance we may always hold to in what we do. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Dear Brother Knights,
As this is my last newsletter, I would like to say “thank you” to all Brother Knights for all your support in the last two years as I served as Grand Knight.
We will be electing a new slate of officers at our June 3rd meeting. If you are contacted by the nominating committee to accept a position in our council, please graciously accept!
Thank you to Leo Grossman, Michael Waldoch and Daryl Flagen for putting the American flags on all of our Veterans grave sites for Memorial Day. It is very much appreciated.
I know that with the newly elected officers, our Council will continue to grow and perform the good works for which we are known. However, let’s not forget that our Council is only as good as our brothers are willing to make it by working together in all the projects and activities that we do. Let’s not forget that each member is of equal importance, which means we work as one unit for the good of the Order.

May 27, 28 , & 29, 2019 Rogation days- a period of time just prior to the Ascension of our Lord.
These days are observed with prayer and fasting, processions, Holy Mass, the Litany of the Saints, etc. seeking God’s protection and blessing - Blessing on fields and crops and gardens, that the earth may yield its increase. People of all times and plac-es have been- and continue to be- dependent on the annual increase of the land. We need the favor of our Lord which is always present for us if we only ask… I suggest that all who read this open your Bible to Leviticus and read the 26th chapter.

Our State Convention is over and 7 delegates and alternates brought back new ideas for our Court. The convention was held in Devils Lake May 3-5. Many awards were earned by Court Sacred Heart. I’m so proud of all of our chairmen who submitted their reports for judging. We brought home 1st place awards in Youth and Education, 2nd place awards in Leadership, Spiritual En-hancement and Membership, and 3rd place awards in Family and Quality of Life. Great job ladies! I will be challenging our members to propose new projects for the coming year. There are many areas in our Church and community that benefit from the projects our Court sets forth. Keeping Unity and Charity in mind, let us always strive to portray by our words, actions and example what Catholic Daughters of the Ameri-cas are truly about. Our next meeting will be on Monday, June 3rd. Barb Deck will be catering our meal which will be served in the church dining room. Special guest speaker will be Debby Schmitz. Her talk is titled “Coping with Life Changes”. You don’t want to miss it!! Hope to see many members at our meeting …..Monday, June 3rd at 6:00 p.m. in the dining room. Rosary will follow the meal and will be led by Donna Marthe.
Gods blessings to you all. In Unity and Charity, Kathy Grossman Regent

Rogation Days for St. Anthony’s and St. Cecilia’s May 27, 28 & 29, 2019
BACKGROUND - Rogation is simply an English form of the Latin verb rogare, which means "to ask." The primary purpose of the Rogation Days is to gather as a community during Spring planting season to ask God and the interces-
sion of Saints to bless the fields, pastures, and the parish (the geographic ar-ea), and for a bountiful harvest. As a parish, we ask God for protection against damaging wind and hail storms, and adequate moisture for our crops, pas-tures, and gardens. Rogation Days are celebrated annually on the three days leading up to Ascension Thursday; the day our Lord goes into heaven. Ascen-sion Thursday is 40 days after Easter, and this year would take place on May 30th.
Monday, May 27th 6:35 PM Rosary, 7 PM Mass with blessing of the soil after Mass and Litany of the Saints. Please bring in your soil in a jar or pail to be blessed. You can take the blessed soil and spread in every field, or over your land, garden, or pasture.
Tuesday, May 28th 6:35 PM Rosary, 7 PM Mass with blessing of various seeds used to be planted this year after Mass. Litany of St. Isadore, patron saint of farmers. We invite you to bring a jar or pail of seed or multiple jars or pails of various seeds that will be planted in this upcoming growing season. These seeds can be blended on various fields or gardens as we ask God’s blessings upon them with adequate rain, protection, and ask for a bountiful harvest.
Wed., May 29th 6:35 PM Rosary, 7 PM Mass, After Mass, there will be a Litany of the Saints. If the weather permits, we will have a Eucharistic pro-cession from the north entrance of the church to the rear parking lot as we pray for: 1. Protection against winds, storms, hail. 2. Adequate moisture. 3. A bountiful harvest. The procession will go around the block of the par-
ish, as we invoke God’s blessing upon our parish family and all who are involved in working the soil.
Fr. Miller and Deacon Jeff Faul will make themselves available for the blessing of fields (and businesses) during the month of May. Please sign up no later than May 26th in the front entrance of the church or call the Parish Office to put your name on the list and Fr. Miller or Deacon Jeff will contact you to schedule a date & time.
We encourage our parishioners to patronize our bulletin sponsors. It is through their generosity that our weekly bulletin comes to you at no publishing cost.
