What we wanted to address:

Info Flood about locations

Plenty of hidden Gems

Difficult to choose venue

Make the decision FOR the user

What we wanted to do:

• Learn to make a simple GIS application!

• .. that works• .. and helps people find interesting places close to

them!

• Random sample of 4 venues at user location• Buffer of 1 km• Resampling of 1 or all venues and• Resampling at given location• Data: works of art data provided by Turku + museum etc.

Conclusions and future

• Creating GIS is way harder than using it• GIS requires creativity

• More data and data filters!• Add descriptions about venues to data!• Write tour into a log• Port to handheld devices
