Over the last few years the use of information technologies in all sectors have increased.

Advancement and application of information technology are ever changing.

Cloud Computing

“Cloud computing is Web-based processing, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices (such as smart phones) on demand over the Internet.”

The idea of the "cloud" simplifies the many network connections and computer systems involved in online services and resources.

It is the technology that uses the internet and central remote servers to maintain data and applications.

History

The concept was coined by John McCarthy in 1960.

One of the first movers in cloud computing was Salesforce.com, which in 1999 introduced the concept of delivering enterprise applications via a simple website.

In 2002 Amazon started Amazon Web Services, providing services like storage, computation and even human intelligence.

Then came Google Docs in 2006

Software as a service (or SaaS) is a way of delivering applications over the Internet – as a service.

This is the most common form of cloud computing which we see in action. It is a complete software offering on the cloud.

They are accessed by the customers on pay per use basis. Ex:

PaaSPlatform as a

Service

Platform as a Service (or PaaS) provides Platform where applications and services can be developed and hosted.

The consumer creates the software using tools and libraries from theprovider.

The provider provides the operating system, server side Scripting environment, tools for design and development, networks, servers storage .

Ex: Google App Engine, Window Azure (platform)

Provides Resources as services.

Hardware related services are provided using the Infrastructure as a Service.

These include disk storage and virtual servers.

Future of Cloud Computing• It is going to be a most adopted computing model in future.

• No more frequent software updates.

• Education at our doorstep.

• Wallets will become history • Cloud computing changed the traditional way of computing in

large extend. With the invention of more segments, we will see our entire desktop, laptop would become invisible and we only need lightweight devices, just to interface to the cloud computing technology.

• All our computing and storage needs will become outsourced to cloud environment.

Digital marketing is a broad term that describes a set of marketing processes that utilize all available digital channels to promote a product or service or build a digital brand.

The channels that make up digital marketing include: Web sites, Social media platforms, email marketing, mobile marketing, Web, TV, SMS, and anything else with a digital foundation.
