Some of trends in the information technology are as follows: • Cloud Computing• Mobile Application• Digital Marketing
Cloud Computing
“Cloud computing is Web-based processing, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices (such as smart phones) on demand over the Internet.”
The idea of the "cloud" simplifies the many network connections and computer systems involved in online services and resources.
It is the technology that uses the internet and central remote servers to maintain data and applications.

History
The concept was coined by John McCarthy in 1960.
One of the first movers in cloud computing was Salesforce.com, which in 1999 introduced the concept of delivering enterprise applications via a simple website.
In 2002 Amazon started Amazon Web Services, providing services like storage, computation and even human intelligence.
Then came Google Docs in 2006

SaaSSoftware as a
Service
Software as a service (or SaaS) is a way of delivering applications over the Internet – as a service.
This is the most common form of cloud computing which we see in action. It is a complete software offering on the cloud.
They are accessed by the customers on pay per use basis. Ex:
No need of Hardware or Software.
SalesForce CRM, Google Apps
PaaSPlatform as a
Service
Platform as a Service (or PaaS) provides Platform where applications and services can be developed and hosted.
The consumer creates the software using tools and libraries from theprovider.
The provider provides the operating system, server side Scripting environment, tools for design and development, networks, servers storage .
Ex: Google App Engine, Window Azure (platform)
IaaSInfrastructure as a
Service
Provides Resources as services.
Hardware related services are provided using the Infrastructure as a Service.
These include disk storage and virtual servers.
Ex: Amazon EC2, SQL Azure
