SEAAU Boys’ Basketball 2014 District Rule Reminders A TN team may have a maximum of three players on its roster from the state of AL during the

TN Sub State or State Tournament; and these players and the team must participate in the

TN Tournament. An AL team may have a maximum of three players on its roster from the

state of TN during the AL Sub State or State Tournament; and these players and team must

participate in the AL Tournament. The three players included in this rule cannot play in both

the TN and the AL Tournament; they can only participate in one qualifying tournament. (These

players do not count as cross boundary players as they are from the same district.) If you

have a question on changes in SEAAU TN Boys’ Basketball rules e-mail questions to

[email protected].

National and SEAAU TN Boys’ Basketball Game Rules *These are partial excerpts of the SEAAU District and National Rules*

Crowd Control The club, the team, and its coaches are responsible for the conduct of their own fans and

players at every AAU contest, regardless of where it may be held. Failure to control its fans

may result in suspension of the club, coaches, and/ or one or all of its teams from future AAU

Boys’ Basketball Tournaments.

Ejection’s/Technical Fouls The Boys' Basketball Committee has approved enforcement of the TSSAA rules on ejection

for fighting and/or unsportsmanlike conduct (taunting, disrespect to officials or fans, etc.).

If a player is ejected for fighting or receives two technical fouls for unsportsmanlike conduct,

the player is suspended for the team's next two games in any TN SEAAU Sub-State or State

Tournament. Any coach who is ejected from a game sanctioned by SEAAU TN Boys'

Basketball for receiving two direct technical fouls will automatically be suspended from

coaching his or her team's next game and the coach will be banned from the gymnasium.

Uniform Dress Code Jerseys must conform to high school federation rules, with numbers on both front (2"

minimum) and back (4" minimum) of the jersey, with the exception that numbers can be 00-99.

It is recommended that each team have one or two extra jerseys on hand because of the

"blood rule". Each team must have a set of WHITE AND DARK JERSEYS! The AAU

National Boys' Basketball jersey rule shall apply to any team that does not comply.

Protest Any protest lodged with SEAAU TN Boys' Basketball must be filed in writing with a $200 cash

fee that will be refunded if the protest is upheld. If the protest is rejected or abandoned,

the $200 will be forfeited.

State Advancement Notification Coaches must give the Boys' Basketball Chairman a written notice 48 hours after the

completion of the DIVISION I Sub State or DIVISION I state tournament if the team

is not advancing to next level of competition. If a team does not advance and does not give

notice that the team will not participate, the coach will be banned from participation for one

year and the club shall lose all seed points in all grade divisions for the next year.

Intentional Forfeit Any coach who intentionally forfeits (i.e. takes his team off the floor during the game and

refuses to complete the game), or who fails to participate in area district tournaments or

district finals will be banned from participating in SEAAU TN Boys' Basketball for one year.

The club will also lose all seed points in all grade divisions for the next year.
