TO HAVE A GOAL AND

ACCOMPLISH IT

Philippians 3:12-14

THE POINTMOST PEOPLE HAVE NO GOAL FOR THEIR LIVES. THERE IS NOTHING THEY WANT TO ACCOMPLISH FOR THE GLORY OF GOD. THERE IS NOTHING THEY WANT TO ACCOMPLISH WITH THEIR LIVES. THEY GO THROUGH LIFE WITHOUT A PURPOSE. YET MOST PEOPLE ARE BUSY IN LIFE EVEN THOUGH THEY ACCOMPLISH NOTHING FOR THE SIMPLE REASON THAT, THEY MADE NO GOAL FOR THEMSELVES. THEY HAVE A PURPOSELESS LIFE. A LIFE WITHOUT A GOAL IS AN EMPTY LIFE. A LIFE WITHOUT A GOAL IS A BORING LIFE WITH NOTHING EXCITING. A LIFE WITHOUT A GOAL WILL ACCOMPLISH NOTHING. IN THIS BEGINNING OF THE YEAR OF MULTIPLICATION, GOD WANTS US TO MAKE GOALS SO THAT WE WILL CHANNEL OUR ENERGY, OUR EFFORTS AND NOT ALLOW THE USUAL CHALLENGES OF LIFE TO DISCOURAGE US. GOD WANTS YOU AS AN INDIVIDUAL TO MAKE A GOAL AND FOCUS YOUR EYES ON IT TILL YOU ACCOMPLISH IT.

Philippians 3:12-14

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus

AND PAST FAILURES BUT FOCUSED ON THE GOAL9. HE STRAINED TOWARD WHAT IS AHEAD: THE GOAL10. HE WANTED TO WIN A PRIZE. HE HAD THE DRIVE TO WIN!

THE MATTER OF GOAL IS DIVINE1. GOD HAD A GOAL AT CREATION: HE CREATED THE WORLD2. ABRAHAM HAD A GOAL: HE WAS ASKED TO GO TO THE PROMISED

LAND. HE DID3. MOSES HAD A GOAL: HE LIBERATED THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL FROM

EGYPT.4. JOSHUA HAD A GOAL: TO BRING THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL TO THE

PROMISE LAND.5. THE JUDGES APPEARED IN ISRAEL TO DELIVER THE NATION FROM

THEIR ENEMIES.6. THE DIFFERENT PROPHETS WHO APPEARED IN ISRAEL HAD THE GOAL

OF ANNOUNCING THE COMING OF THE MESSIAH7. JOHN THE BAPTIST HAD THE GOAL OF PREPARING THE NATION OF

ISRAEL FOR THE COMING OF JESUS. HE DID!8. JESUS CAME TO DIE ON THE CROSS FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD. HE

DID!

GOALS ARE CHALLENGING

NO GOAL IS EASY TO ACCOMPLISH EVERY GOAL IS SURROUNDED BY CHALLENGES

AND OBSTACLES EVERY GOAL REQUIRES DETERMINATION AND

PERSEVERANCE EVERY GOAL REQUIRES CONCENTRATION EVERY GOAL REQUIRES SACRIFICES

THE JOY OF ACCOMPLISHING A GOAL

EVERY GOAL HAS A PRIZE ATTACHED TO ITS ACCOMPLISHMENT.ACCOMPLISHING A GOAL GRANT A SENSE OF FULLFILMENT.EVERY GOAL ACCOMPLISHED BRINGS A DEEP INNER SATISFACTIONEVERY GOAL ACCOMPLISHED INCREASE A PERSON’S CONFIDENCEEVERY GOAL ACCOMPLISHED ADD TO SOMEONE’S VALUEEVERY GOAL ACCOMPLISHED GARANTEES A PLACE IN THE SOCIETY

THE VISION OF GOD IS ALWAYS THE VISION OF THE WHOLE

WORLD.GOD’S LOVE IS FOR THE WHOLE WORLD AND

THEREFORE HIS VISON ENCOMPASSES THE WHOLE WORLD

JESUS WILL NOT COME UNTIL THE GOSPEL IS PREACHED TO THE WHOLE WORLD

PAUL ACCOMPLISHED HIS GOAL
