Learn about the fascinating whaling history of the area and discover how local whalers worked with a pod of Killer Whales in a relationship known as the “law of the tongue”. Times: 10:00am - 12 noon and 1pm-3pm Meeting place: Snug Cove Eden Cost: $20 per person. Rockpool and Aquarium Tour - Merimbula Easy Explore the intertidal rockpools with a Discovery Ranger and then delve deeper into the marine world with a guided tour of the Merimbula Aquarium. It is also a registered turtle hospital that works alongside WIRES and NPWS to rehabilitate sick and injured marine turtle for release back into the wild. Activity gradingEasy: Suitable for most people but take care with children.

Medium : Some steps or steep areas, suitable for people who regularly exercise.

Hard: Only for fit, experienced walkers. Steps and /or steep sections. Visitors with heart or breathing problems should not attempt these walks.

Bookings and further information Bookings are essential unless otherwise stated as numbers on each

activity are limited. Early bookings are recommended.

CancellationsIf an activity is cancelled by NPWS due to insufficient bookings or unforeseen circumstances such as bushfire or wet weather a full refund is given or you may transfer to another activity.Cancellation by customers must be made at least 24 hrs in advance and a refund will be made, however 30% of the activity fee will be retained to cover administration costs.

Discovery Walks, Talks And ToursThe NPWS National Parks Walks, Talks and Tours program offers a fantastic insight into the unexpected delights of your national parks. Developed for all ages and let by specialist Discovery and Aboriginal Discovery rangers, these fun and fascinating activities will introduce you to the wealth of natural, cultural and historic heritage within your local national parks and nature reserves. Activity paymentsUnless otherwise stated - activities are $8.00 per person.

Please note national park fees may also apply.

All prices include GST.

The child rate is for children 4 years to 15 years. Family rate ($25.00) applies to a family group of 2 adults and 2 children. Child rate applies to additional children. An adult must accompany all children under 18 years.

What to bring Wearing sturdy enclosed shoes with good tread is compulsory on all Discovery activities.

Always bring plenty of water, a hat, sunscreen, wet weather gear, warm cloths for night walks, food (lunch is all day activity) and a spirit of fun and adventure.
