Jim Davis was born July 28, 1945 in Marion, Indiana, USA, and was raised on a Black Angus cow farm with 25 cats! His childhood asthma (哮喘) kept him inside a lot, so to amuse himself he drawn pictures. Jim Davis studied at the Ball-State University where he majored in art, and became the assistant of 'Tumbleweeds' artist Tom K. Ryan where he learned the comic strip business in 1969. In 1978, he joined United Feature Syndicate, and launched 'Garfield'-- a fat, lazy, lasagna-loving, cynical cat, probably the biggest cat in comics.
