We are a wholesale manufacturer who distributes our products through various resellers. To see if you qualify, please contact our customer service department at (800) 395-2570.

Terms Net 30 days after credit is established. Interest of 1.5% per month will be charged on past due accounts. Accounts with a past due balance must pay in advance or by C.O.D. until proper credit is reestablished. A charge of $25 will be added for any returned checks.

New Accounts A signed credit application / purchase agreement is required. Until such time as credit is approved all orders must be accompanied by a check, PayPal, VISA, American Express, Discover, or MasterCard, or orders will be shipped C.O.D. certified funds.

We accept:

Sales Tax Customer is liable for all federal, state, and local taxes and will be invoiced for taxes unless exemption or resale certificate is provided.

Minimum Order Orders paid by credit card do not have a minimum billing requirement. All other orders have a $75 minimum, not including transportation.

Shipments All prices are F.O.B. Mesquite, Texas shipped via UPS or the most economical way. Motor freight shipments will be sent freight collect whenever possible.

Handling Charges A charge of $4 per location will be added to the invoice for any split shipments.

An $13.50 service charge will be added to all C.O.D. orders. This charge is dictated by UPS and is subject to change at any time.

Prepaid Truck shipments are subject to a $12 processing charge.

UPS sheet metal shipments: • $20 per box for 24" x 48" sheets

Domestic sheet metal truck shipments: • $15 per crate for 12" x 24" sheets • $25 per crate for 24" x 48" sheets

International sheet metal shipments: • $105 per crate for 12" x 24" sheets* • $130 per crate for 24" x 48" sheets* *These wooden crates are heat treated and carry the approved IPPC stamp.

Special Packaging A $25 minimum will be added for custom packaging not covered above – consult ID Plates for charges.

Cancellations or Changes Upon cancellation or changes to an order prior to completion, a charge of $25 plus all costs incurred will be assessed.

Wire Transfers A $25 bank charge will be added to all orders paid by wire transfer.

Returned Goods All claims must be made within 30 days of shipment. Return merchandise will be accepted only with prior authorization and is subject to a 25% restocking charge. No cash refunds will be made after six months from the shipping date.

Damaged Goods Any claim for damages or missing cartons must be filed immediately with the delivery agent. Whenever possible, please provide digital images of damaged goods to assist in expediting the claim.

California Prop 65 Our leaded brass and nickel silver are packaged with California’s required warning label. Our other metals are compliant.

Identification Plates was founded in 1959 by the Crownover family and has been supplying the awards, promotional products, commercial name plate, and signage industries with blank and custom imprinted metal products for 60 years. After three generations of leadership by the Crownover family, today the company is still family-owned and operated, but as part of Gemini Sign Products, remaining firmly established as a long-term supplier to the industries it serves. Identification Plates offers the widest selection of sheet metal in the industry, including standard varieties of aluminum, brass, copper, and stainless steel, as well as specialty metals like nickel silver, plated steel, leaded brass, DuraLuxe, UltraBlack, and DynaSub aluminum. In addition to sheet metal products, Identification Plates also provides custom fabrication, custom imprinting, and assembly services. Our fabrication department provides custom cutting services for just about any shape or size you may need – circles, ovals, perpetual plates, etc. – along with additional services such as cornering, holes, custom shapes, assorted adhesives, custom forming, embossing, and stamped serial numbering. The addition of a 1,500-watt laser cutter now allows us to create intricate shapes or designs on most of the metals we have in inventory.

Our custom imprinting services include sublimation, screen printing, and chemical etching. Screen printing offers the versatility of single or multiple color printing with a baked-on finish for durable, lasting beauty. Classic and elegant, our etching techniques include color filled, frosted (tone on tone), or a hand rubbed antique finish. Sublimation combines the stunning and vivid beauty of four color process printing with quick delivery.

We also provide assembly and packaging services for anything from a simple name badge to a large plaque program. Blind drop shipments are available, along with hold and release and co-op programs.

We operate out of a single 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and are ISO-9000 compliant with an on-time delivery record of over 99%. Our employees are dedicated to providing the highest quality in both our products and our services.

1959 – Identification Plates is founded by the Crownover family in Dallas, Texas as an engraver & nameplate manufacturer.

Lapel Pins without the wait! Stainless Steel lapel pin blanks have an orbital finish with a fused post and butterfly clasp attached. Perfect for digital UV printing, CO2 laser engraving with a marking solution, or for fiber marking. Stainless steel lapel pins are a great option for Made in the USA recognition. Donor Plates

DuraLuxe Aluminum

Designed for outdoor use, DuraLuxe aluminum is the sublimation solution to your outdoor signage needs. DuraLuxe is a white powder-coated aluminum that is UV-stable, anti-graffiti, chemical resistant, and has a 5-year outdoor warranty. DuraLuxe aluminum is available in 12" x 24" and 24" x 48" sheets, as well as license plates. (see pages 33 and 41)

Bright-Coated Aluminum

Bright (mirror) finishes are created by coating polished aluminum with a transparent lacquer, allowing the reflective quality of the metal to shine through. A clear lacquer is used to create bright silver, while tinted (or colored) lacquers are used to create gold and other colors. The transparent lacquer used on our bright aluminum is sublimatable and can also be laser- engraved, creating a bright silver mark.

Satin-Coated Aluminum

Metallic Aluminum

This aluminum has particles of silver creating a unique metallic appearance. Laser engraving removes the paint coating, exposing

Opaque-Coated Aluminum

Opaque finishes are created by applying a solid-colored paint to the metal’s surface. In most cases, the paint is applied to a raw aluminum surface. Since there is not a lacquer coating on the painted surface, the opaque finishes will not accept subli-mation. Opaque aluminum finishes can be laser-engraved, but the material will yield a raw, whitish gray mark, not the bright silver finish available on our other laserable aluminum products.

Anodized Aluminum

Anodized aluminum is created through an electrochemical process which allows the color to penetrate the pores of the aluminum, resulting in an actual change in the color of the metal surface. Anodized aluminum is harder and more resistant to abrasion and corrosion. Most anodized aluminums are colored on both sides and can be rotary, diamond drag, or laser-engraved. Laser engraving produces a whitish gray mark. Anodized aluminum is not recommended for sublimation. Our colored anodized aluminum is typically used in decorative applications and is not suitable for outdoor use. However, our satin silver anodized aluminum can be used outdoors. Please note that only one side is primed and mask-protected.

Copper

Copper is a very desirable metal for engraving because it oxidizes so well. Copper is considered a soft metal with copper having a reddish-orange color. Our satin copper product is 99% pure copper.


Nickel Silver

Nickel silver is actually a copper alloy but silver in color. Our nickel silver is a mixture of 55% copper, 27% zinc and 18% nickel - the zinc and nickel components give it a silver color. Because this material is a copper-based product, it can be engraved and will oxidize black. Nickel silver is not magnetic.

Gold Brass

Gold brass has an alloy mixture of 85% copper and 15% zinc with a clear lacquer coating on one side. Mainly used for ro-tary or diamond drag engraving, the clear lacquer on the gold brass can be sublimated. When oxidized, the engraved areas will turn black. Often referred to as “trophy brass”.

Recommended sublimation settings: Temperature ~ 380° F Time ~ 35 seconds Medium Pressure

Colored Brass

Colored brass has an alloy mixture of 70% copper and 30% zinc with a solid-colored painted surface. It was designed for rotary or diamond drag engraving. This material is not recommended for laser engraving as the exposed areas will be raw, uncoated brass and will oxidize over time.

Laser Brass

Laser brass has a gloss black paint coating over a 70% copper and 30% zinc alloy base that has been polished to a bright finish. While designed for laser engraving, it can also be diamond drag or rotary engraved.


Double-Sided Brass

Double-sided brass is 85% copper and 15% zinc with a satin finish. It has a lacquer coating and masking on both sides.

Leaded Brass

This type of brass contains a mixture of 68% copper, 30% zinc, and 2% lead. The addition of lead makes the brass softer and easier to engrave and shear. This combination makes the color of the material more yellow than standard 85/15 engraving brass. Generally used when deep routing and color filling is required, leaded brass will produce beautiful black detail when engraved and oxidized. † Also available in 12" x 48"

Unlacquered Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is a strong and durable material that is mainly used for commercial applications. Silver in color, it can be marked with a thermal solution using a CO2 laser engraver. Stainless steel can also be rotary engraved, but it is recommended that you consult your equipment manufacturer.


Type 430 Stainless steel is a more economical, softer version and is used in decorative applications. 430 stainless steel is magnetic.

Type 304 stainless steel is the most widely available in the stainless series and is typically used for commercial applications. 304 stainless steel is non-magnetic with a #4 finish.

Type 316 stainless steel is more corrosive resistant than our other stainless products and is generally used in marine applications. 316 stainless steel is non-magnetic with a #4 finish.

Custom Etched Products

Chemical etching is the ultimate for marking and decorating metal. Its fine detail, multi-dimensional appearance, and durability make it the preferred marking process for awards, plaque plates, name badges, wallet cards, and even commercial plates.

Etching combines the artistry of chemical engraving with the precision of computer generated graphics to create works of extraordinary quality and beauty. The art or the background can be recessed in the metal to create a texture and look that is unmatched with other marking processes. This look can be further enhanced by including color filling, frosting, or applying a hand-rubbed antique finish. We can also combine etching with screen printing or sublimation to further augment its color and perceived value.
