Page 2: Theories of the creation of the universe

People that believe in religion but also people that don’t believe in religion have believed in this theory.

A higher power or super-scientist out of our knowledge created everything, maybe also with the help of something else too.

This is reasonable because if it is out of our knowledge it is possible because we don’t know of it, and a higher power or super-scientist would have skills that we couldn’t even think of to create our universe.

Page 3: Theories of the creation of the universe

Ancient Greeks and Romans believed that some of their Gods just emerged and created everything.

They had some information and created new theories. They proposed a lot of good ideas like that the Earth is not flat.

Although there were very intelligent and important people living in this time, and many important theories and ideas were proposed the people of this time still believed in what they knew which were stories of their Gods. I don’t believe in these Gods so this isn't realistic to me.

Page 4: Theories of the creation of the universe

3 water serpents and 3 heaven dwellers created the Earth.

They thought the universe was much smaller than it is, and that Earth was the center.

Not much was known about astronomy at this time, so it is not a realistic scientific option.

Page 5: Theories of the creation of the universe

• The Christian belief is that the universe was created by God. There are different sects like Catholic and Lutheran and some still believe the universe is only 6000 years old.

• God created the Earth, heavens and entire universe in just 7 days.

• Many people believe in Christianity, so this is a common belief of the creation of the universe.

Page 6: Theories of the creation of the universe

The counterargument to God creating the world is that, who created God? How did he get here and create our world.

The universe has always just been created and will always just exist there isn’t anything that created it and nothing will destroy it.

I think this is believable because everyone believes there own ideas and there are counterarguments to every theory, so every theory has a certain amount of rightness.

Page 7: Theories of the creation of the universe

• Matter is created from a white hole. A white hole is the opposite of a black hole, so it matter is created from nothingness, instead of becoming nothingness like in a black hole which happens at the speed of light.

• There would be multiple universes because our universe would be just one out of many from one white hole.

• I think this could be realistic because there would need to be an opposite to a black hole and a white hole creating our universe would make sense.

Page 8: Theories of the creation of the universe

• Also known as the Oscillatory Universe Theory combines the Big Bang Theory and Big Crunch Theory, created by John Wheeler in 1960.

• There are an infinite number of beginnings and endings of our universe. Our universe is constantly expanding and contracting through big bangs and crunches.

• This is reasonable because if the universe is recreated and has a new beginning we would have no knowledge of this because everything would become destroyed to recreate itself again.

Page 9: Theories of the creation of the universe

This theory is very believable because many people do and there is lots of information to back it up. Many astronomers have looked at this theory and proved it is true with their facts.

The universe would be 13.7 billion years old.

At the beginning the entire universe was in a very hot, very dense bubble smaller than a single atom. Then it exploded creating time, space, matter, and the universe we know. It took a fraction of a second to grow bigger than a galaxy, and keeps on expanding even today. Then the temperature dropped very cold, below 1 billion degrees Celsius creating hydrogen and helium nuclei. The universe filled with helium and hydrogen gas.

I think the Christian/Biblical theory is most realistic because that is what I believe is true. I think that by straight facts the Big Bang Theory is the most realistic because that’s what everyone knows. Also though straight facts could be straight facts from an Intelligent Design Theory. No one knows what happened so it is just based on what is most popular right now and what we each personally believe.
