Biblical Creationist Theory

Theory #1

By: Lian A.

Page 2: Theories of the Universe

Theory Beliefs

• This theory does not believe in the idea that the universe was formed by “chance”

• People who believe in this theory trust that God has created all universes; that there is an omniscient force behind the creation of the Earth

Page 3: Theories of the Universe

What ideas began the theory?

• The Bible is the only source for this theory

Page 4: Theories of the Universe

Genesis 1:1

The Five Concepts of Science:• Space• Time• Matter• Motion• Force

How They Relate:• Space: heavens• Time: beginning• Matter: earth• Motion: created• Force: God

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

(Genesis 1:1 NIV)

Page 5: Theories of the Universe

Day One

• God created light• He separated the

darkness from the light• He called the darkness

night and the light, day

“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was

light. God saw that the light was good, and He

separated the light from the darkness. God called

the light ‘day,’ and the darkness he called

“’night.’” (Genesis 1:3-5)

Day Two

• God created dry ground• He separated dry

ground from water• He called the dry

ground land and the water seas

“And God said, ‘Let there be an expanse between the

waters to separate water from water.’ So God made the expanse and separated

the water under the expanse from the water

above it. And it was so. God called the expanse ‘sky.’

And there was evening, and there was morning—the

second day.” (Genesis 1:6-8)

Day Three

• God created vegetation • He created plants

“Then God said, ‘Let the land produce

vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees

on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their

various kinds.’ And it was so.” (Genesis 1:11

NIV)

Page 8: Theories of the Universe

Day Four

• God created stars, moon, and the sun

• He wanted there to be indicators in the sky so that there would be a difference in day and night

And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the expanse of the

sky to separate the day from the night, and let

them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the

expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.’ And it was so.” (Genesis 1:14,15

NIV)

Page 9: Theories of the Universe

Day Five

• God created living creatures to live in the sky and water

• He called the creatures that lived in the sky “birds”

“And God said, ‘Let the water teem with

living creatures, and let birds fly above

the earth across the expanse of the sky.’”

(Genesis 1:20 NIV)

Page 10: Theories of the Universe

Day Six

• God created living creatures that would roam the Earth/ land animals

• God also created man in His own image

And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their

kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild

animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 26 Then God

said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let

them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move

along the ground."(Genesis 1:24,26NIV)

Day Seven

• According to Genesis 2:2, God rested on the seventh day

“By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been

doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.”

(Genesis 2:2 NIV)

How old is the Earth according to this theory?

• The Earth is approximately 3,000 years old, according to the Biblical Creationist Theory

3,000

Big Bang Theory

Theory #2

Page 14: Theories of the Universe

Beliefs of this theory

• People that believe this theory think that the entire universe was formed by a singularity—a point in space with no volume, but infinite density

• They believe that the universe began by an expanding singularity, that is still expanding, to this day

Page 15: Theories of the Universe

How old is the Earth according to the Big Bang theory?

• Approximately 12-15 million years old

12-15 Million

Page 16: Theories of the Universe

What sparked this theory?

• The Catholic priest, Georges Lemaitre, was the first person to begin the idea of The Big Bang

• Previous scientists before Lemaitre believed that the universe “has always been”, stable, and unchanging

• His scientific experiments and mathematical equations showed that the universe must either be expanding or shrinking
