Students aend pre-college sessions monthly to gain first hand experience about post secondary education which includes writing papers, presenting on topics, learning how to negotiate the campus and social activities. PAWS is open to all schools in the NEIU#19 area and accepts 20 participants. The 2017/2018 FCR school years has 5 students successfully enrolled in the program. The monthly student recognition program highlights one student from each of the eight grade levels at the Forest City Regional Elementary School. These students are consistently demonstrating ready, respectful, and responsible behaviors. Students nominated have gone above and beyond to meet and surpass our school-wide behavior expectations. SADD Officers at Forest City Regional Gomez is Student of the Month at FCR Wayne County Drilling advocate Gets USDA job Curt Coccodrilli, Honesdale, an outspoken advocate for natural gas drilling in Wayne County, was recently named by the Trump Administration as the new state director for U.S. Department of Agricul- ture (USDA) Rural Develop- ment in Pennsylvania. As State Director, Coc- codrilli will use his leadership experience to oversee Rural Development programs in a customer-focused manner to restore prosperity in rural Pennsylvania. USDA Rural Development provides loans and grants to help expand economic oppor- tunities and create jobs in rural areas. The USDA assistance sup- ports infrastructure improve- ments; business development; community services such as schools, public safety and health care; and high speed in- ternet access in rural areas. Phillips named Susq. University Scholar Hannah Phillips of Clifford, is among the 212 students re- cently named Susquehanna University Scholars. The annual Scholars Pro- gram, held on Nov. 3, recog- nized Susquehanna’s most successful student scholars. To be named a University Scholar, students must have earned a cumulative grade point aver- age of 3.75 in full-time study for the past two semesters or equivalent credit hours of part- time study. Phillips is a a creative writ- ing-secondary education ma- jor in the Class of 2020. A 2016 graduate of Mountain View Sr. High School, she is the daugh- ter of Mark Phillips and Su- zanne Phillips.
