Monday & Thursday PM Girls on the Run – Girls on the Run The Girls on the Run program is a physical activity-based positive youth development program (PA-PYD) designed to help girls positively see themselves and their opportunities. There is a curriculum to follow at each practice, which is accompanied by practicing for the end of season 5k.

Monday PM Engineering with Edison Robotics – Silicon STEM Academy Come learn about robotics principles in an exciting, hands-on format! In this class, we’ll explore the small-but-mighty Edison® robot! We’ll learn to program these powerful robots with an easy-to-use visual programming interface to navigate a maze autonomously and with precision. We’ll also teach our bots to use sensors to follow lines, avoid edges and obstacles, and react to lights and sounds. The fun doesn’t stop there! These robots are compatible with LEGO® blocks, so that students can connect them to work collaboratively! This class teaches students to think like young engineers.

Monday PM Fencing – Scholastic Fencing League Fencing is a sport involving quick thinking, agility, poise and speed. This unique sport develops self-discipline, respect, maturity and good sportsmanship, qualities that carry through to our everyday lives. Our mission is to introduce the Olympic Sport of fencing to students in a safe and fun environment. Fencers learn to solve problems, cope with adversity and take what comes with grace, through their individual and team participation. Progressive classes build on previous experience and curriculum is developed for progressing skill levels.

Tuesday PM Rhythm and Drums – Sound Formation In this unique class you’ll learn an easy way to truly master rhythm. The proprietary tools and method we teach allow you to transfer your groove onto any other instrument with our guidance later on, and/or just get awesome at percussion now! Strategic and fun games develop your listening skills, performance ability, and overall musicality. Tuesday PM French – Learn Skillz Learn-Skillz offers Fun French lessons for curious kids. We will explore the joy of learning a new language through games, movies, books, songs and more. Our French Language lessons are taught in an age appropriate setting with a lot of activities that help young learners immerse naturally into the French Language and Culture. Students will be provided with materials in the class as well as to take home for practice. Students will acquire vocabulary and learn how to apply them. Tuesday PM Let’s Get Moving! – Movement Madness

Kids need to get moving and that is what we do at Movement Madness. Our camps are geared towards kids in kindergarten up through 5th grade. We provide a fun, exciting way for kids to stay fit and have fun in a noncompetitive, encouraging environment. Our instructors provide your child with encouragement to build self esteem, movement to get and keep them healthy, games to teach sports skills and sportsmanship and fun and laughter with new and old friends to help develop social and emotional well being. At movement madness we believe in the complete development of children. Kids who are physically fit are also mentally, emotionally and socially fit. Studies show that fit kids do better in school, have an easier time making friends and have the self confidence to try new things and take risks. Isn't this something we all want for our children? The drills and games we play – catching, throwing, dribbling and kicking – will improve your child’s strength, balance, flexibility and ball handling. Your child will develop an increased level of self confidence, hand-eye coordination and ability to work as a team. Tuesday PM STEAM & Maker Discovery – Eurekus (1st-2nd Grade) Inspire your budding artist/engineer during our enrichment program designed for Mini Makers. Imaginations are charged as learners explore science and engineering with a host of cool Fine Art and Maker projects. From mechanical inventions to LED creations, students enjoy working hands-on with our visiting artist mentors. They also build crucial skills through dynamic and fun discovery. Tuesday PM Drama - “Moana” – KidStage Join Moana, the daughter of the chief, on the island of Montunui as she sets out on a quest to follow her heart and discover who she truly is. Along the way, she gets to know a conceited yet hilarious demigod, a fashionable crab, and a hare-brained rooster. Her wise Grandmother whose spirit is closely tied to the ocean helps Moana Discover her voice and her cor on the fantastic journey. Final performance will take place on 5/14 at 5:30pm.

Wednesday PM Cooking – Sticky Fingers Let your child release their inner chef! Students will prepare and eat healthy, globally-inspired recipes all while loving and learning to cook in a fun, engaging and irresistibly tasty way that will turn even the pickiest eaters into avid food explorers! Our fun, inspiring and creative chef instructors mix together a sense of engagement and excitement as they combine the love of cooking and fun nutritional facts (even a few bad jokes!), safe cooking skills and hygiene, jokes, geography, math skills, food culture and history to help instill a lifetime love of delicious, healthy family cooking. Your kids will have a blast every week discovering how easy and fun it is to cook (and gobble-up!) tasty, healthy, American classics as well as globally-inspired Sticky Fingers Cooking recipes! Sticky Fingers Cooking offers young chefs the chance to explore exciting tastes, all seasonal and as local as possible, master culinary skills that they can put to use in family kitchens, all while nourishing their bodies and minds. Wednesday PM Movement & Creative Arts Available for all grades at Steele Elementary. This class series consists of Movement (Dance, Fitness, Yoga) and Creative Arts (drama, art, creative writing, digital design). Among the many physical benefits of moving each day. Though combining Creative Arts, children can tap into their expressive selves, and develop social-emotional awareness. Children will also be taught relaxation and self-regulation techniques, and how to implement them. Each session, we create a group art project to “Give Back” to our Community. The children will guide this process and decide to whom we “Give Back.”

Wednesday PM Creative Movement – Colorado Ballet This dance class is an after school residency that lasts 11 weeks, and classes will focus on creative movement and ballet. The curriculum is designed for students to study a variety of dance concepts while working on spatial awareness, problem solving, social and emotional skills, and strengthening of body and brain. The program culminates in an “informance” for parents, school and community. While this is open to all grades curriculum is differentiated for 3rd-5th grades, with higher enrollment for these grades the class will be split into grade appropriate groups.

Thursday PM Unsolved Science & My Amazing Flying Machine – Science Matters Unsolved Science - Science Matters needs your help to solve the Unsolved Science Mystery! Thursday PM League of Wayfinders In League of Wayfinders, you get to create your very own hero. Using your imagination you'll go on an adventure with others creating a team of heroes in an exciting magical world. You will fight monsters, solve puzzles, and use your hero's special magic to help those in need. Accept the challenge and become a hero of The Four Kingdoms, a Wayfinder. The philosophy of League of Wayfinders is that role playing games are good for you. They bring people together, instill empathy and cooperation, and teach people that together they can solve difficult problems, overcome obstacles, and learn about themselves in the process. Any age can benefit from this activity, and League of Wayfinders has built a system that tailors to your child's specific needs, interests, and goals. We craft a story from your child's imagination, and explore the consequence of their ideas and actions. Engaging students outside of the classroom is a difficult task. League of Wayfinders' programs offer kids a completely non-digital game that keeps them engaged. Our programs are much smaller than traditional enrichment programs, with groups ranging from 4-6 kids per instructor. Smaller classes allow for fuller involvement and one-on-one time with instructors, which helps develop a more immersive story based on the children's specific needs. Whatever they would like to explore, we provide a safe and entertaining space to adventure. While exploring their characters, kids learn to flex their imagination in a social setting. We integrate education into the system, creating a cooperative storytelling experience that exercises critical thinking and fosters teamwork, skills that they can carry with them both in and out of the classroom.

Friday PM Hip Hop – Creative Dance Kids This is a high-energy dance form that uses the latest AGE APPROPRIATE Hip Hop and Pop music, coupled with

dance steps influenced by some of today’s finest dance choreographers. The style incorporates poppin', lockin',

and body isolations. Students will learn old school as well as the trendy hip hop style of today, all while

emphasizing each dancer finding his/her own individual swagger and style through improvisation. Hip Hop is a fun,

high-energy way to express oneself in a big way!

Creative Dance Kids classes strive to foster each child’s creativity and determination while nurturing his/her

capacity to take risks, to strive freely, and to take pride in success.

Parents, family and friends are invited to attend the final class meeting on May 17th to see what we've learned.

Friday PM Chess – Chess Wizards

Chess Wizards is one of the nation’s premier chess education companies. Our interactive, discovery-based curriculum inspires students to think ahead, visualize their goals, treat others with respect and to learn from mistakes. First, we let kids get the wiggles and giggles out with 10 minutes of free play and review of past taught topics. We then go right into the week's lessons. We separate students based on skill levels and teach different lessons best suited to their individual needs. All lessons have an activity and homework to accompany them and we have well over 80 different lessons to keep challenging our little wizards!
