Notes to accompany the 2019 WI Ryedale Show SchedulePreserves: Different coloured lids can be used, but they should be newFlowers: It is intended to circulate copies of the WI ‘Friendship Flowers’ bouquet instructions with the

finalised version of the schedule. We thought that members may be happy for the bouquetsto be taken/given to people at the end of the Show as a gesture of ‘friendship’. The bouquetsshould be displayed in a clear vase, not in paper as the instructions suggest

Photographs: Should not be mountedArt: Items can be framed or unframed/mounted or unmountedCreative Writing: The poem can be of any length, but fit on one sheet of A4 with a font size of no less than12pointGeneral: We have added to the ‘Rules’ that judges will be informed of any acceptable differences to

items (such as the chutney, which may have additional flavourings) or that, unless specified, baked goods can be displayed as desired by the entrant

Baby Hat: NO cotton yarn please. Wool or acrylic is fine. Links to various knitted/crocheted patternscan be forwarded, but any pattern for a new born baby hat which you have can be used

Handicraft: More than one item can be used to create the new item (Schedule Number 13). We wouldlike to suggest that exhibitors include a label stating what has been used, to make theirexhibit, as this will be interesting for Show visitors

Co-Operative: WI’s may decide how best/how much Parkin to display with their entryBaking: The Tea Loaf recipe should state ‘white granulated sugar’. The recipe can be obtained from

your WI representative
