    Senior Profiles

fore, the expectations I have for my

students is extremely high. I expect

students to enter class everyday ready

to learn and to be challenged. I want

    students to understand that making

mistakes are a part of learning and that

pushing beyond the comfort zone is

key to achieving academic success. As

long as one has a growth mindset and

strong work ethic all things are

    achievable.

If you weren’t a teacher, what you

    want to be?

Ms. Ramos: I haven' t really put too

much thought into this question, but

what I do know is that I enjoy helping

people. So I think I would probably be

a guidance counselor or someone who

    helps people budget their finances.

If you could meet any famous person,

dead or alive, who would your meet

    and why?

Ms. Ramos: There are so many

famous people in this world who I

would love to meet, but the first person

that comes to mind is former first lady

    Michelle Obama. Mrs. Obama embod-

ies all things young women should as-

pire to be. She empowers young wom-

en to be better and she has a great sense

How long have you been working in

    Camden?

Ms. Ramos: I have been committed

to the students in Camden city for 10

    years .

    What are your expectations for

    students?

Ms. Ramos: My expectation is that

all students can achieve success when

given the right level of supports. There-

Staff Interview Ms. Lisa Ramos, English Teacher

“We are a small school but I think 22 units is wonderful. I give the kids credit for caring so much. Some were scared to donate but they did it anyway.

I’m honored to work with this amazing group of students.” - Nurse Calderone

“I have been part of the Red Cross Club each year of high school. The best part is knowing that I can save up to three lives every time I donate.” - Dian Pagan

“The best part of being in the Red Cross Club and the blood drive is being able to help people and knowing

that I am making a change and doing something bigger than myself.” - Iyana Lugo

“I’m happy to lead an event that benefits helping someone and saving their life.” - Allanii Azcona

Red Cross Club officers, Iyana Lugo, Dian Pagan, Teresa Troutman, Allanii Azcona and Luis Gonzales organized another successful blood drive. The officers have been part of the Red Cross club since their freshman year. Now in their senior year, they have be part of the blood drive each year. This year, 22 units of blood were donated, which can potentially help almost 70 people with life threatening conditions.

“My favorite part about being in the Red Cross Club is we empower students with knowledge and life-saving skills. We help prepare our school and community to respond to emergencies, fundraise, and volunteer at events such as the blood drive. My favorite part about doing the blood drive is

knowing our blood is saving lives.” - Luis Gonzalez
