The Chowhounds held another suc-cessful community event on Satur-day, April 28 for Camden residents and their pets. 30 students serviced 75 dogs and cats with free immun-izations. In addition, they distributed 5 pallets of dog and cat food and took the names of 50 pets to receive free neutering. With the warm weather finally here, the Chow-hounds would like to remind every-one to make sure your pets are hy-drated and remember that the ground may be hot for your pet’s paws. If the ground is hot when your bare feet touch it, it could burn their paws.

prior to teaching. I planned to return home to Liberia and improve agricul-ture production. Due to a Civil War in Liberia that started in the early 1980s, I couldn’t go home with my family and we came to New Jersey.
What is your best year working at Brimm?
Out of 20 something?! The thing I have enjoyed most over the years is when I get to see what our students that gradu-
ated have accomplished. Not only med-ical school or nursing. We have also had students become pharmacists, law-yers, and veterinarians. Some of our graduates came back to Camden to work and others are pursing other ca-reers. One of our graduates earned a Ph. D. in cancer research, another is currently in school to become a veteri-narian, and many have graduated from medical school. It is one of the most rewarding parts of this job.
How long have you been working in Camden?
Dr. Lewis This October will be 24 years with the district. My first three years were at Yorkship and I’ve been at Brimm since 1997. I was here when the first class graduated in 1998.
If you weren’t an teacher, what would you want to be?
Dr. Lewis: I am a trained veter inar i-an and worked with local veterinarians
