Earlier in the year, they may have gone unnoticed but now, they represent a powerful message that two Brimm students are making sure everyone hears. “No more empty desks” represents a campaign to end gun violence and mass shootings. Robin Cogan, a school nurse in Camden, asked Mrs. Wallenburg to help with this project. Our students were willing to help and have become important leaders in this movement. When you walk into Mrs. Wallenburg's art class, there are two

painted desks. Earlier in the year, they may have gone unnoticed but

now, they represent a powerful message that two Brimm students are

project. Our students were willing to help and have become important

leaders in this movement. Gun violence is not limited to any certain

area, race, or age. The desks are symbolic voices for our students to

Students created African tribal masks using the theme 400 years since the arrival of the first Africans to the British colony of Jamestown. Jamestown was not the first European colony to bring Africans across the Atlantic and the slave trade began before 1619, but students created beautiful pieces with powerful messages.

On February 27, junior and senior students from Brimm travelled to the Riletta Cream School to participate in Junior Achievement "High School Heroes" day.

The high school students had practiced curriculum provided by Junior Achievement for K-4th grade and delivered those lessons to the elementary school students. It was a rewarding experience for all involved.
