Support the Production of our Bulletin For quite some time we have been producing our own bulletin al-lowing us to meet the needs of the three languages. If we were to send this bulletin out to be produced, we would have to have one bulletin in English only for everyone and the publications of the Readings in Italian and Spanish would have to come to an end. Help us by Supporting our advertisers and also by placing an ad in our bulletin for a year. Please call the office for more information.

MASS INTENTIONS My brothers and sisters, on Ash Wednesday Jesus invited us to meditate on three things Giving, Praying, and Fasting. This weekend when we celebrate the Transfiguration of the Lord, let us meditate on Almsgiving. “When you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing, so that your almsgiving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you”. Mt 6-4. Almsgiving has to be an essential part of our Lenten activities. Some of us may think of almsgiving as charity and it is. We need to be attentive to helping those in need. In help-ing them, we are helping Jesus Himself, by making the needs of others our very own. Solidarity, or being compassionate to those who suffer in any way, especially those who have lost a loved one, that is a good example of how to practice charity. Other forms may include social work, especially with the poor and elderly, who are continually experiencing the desert of misfortune in this life. Look around and you will see that there are many forms of helping the needy. "He loved us, and gave himself up for us."
My dear brothers and sisters I wanted to take a moment to thank you once again for your help on my Installation Mass. Bishop Boissonneau was impressed to see the whole congregation participating and how well organized it was. Thanks to the lec-tors, the music, choir, ushers and all of you for your support, your presence, and all the food that you brought, it was fantastic and delicious. Thank you for demonstrating grace, love and patience. THANK YOU for being my family and making my Instal-lation Mass one of the most beautiful mo-ments of my life. God bless you.
Fr. Josue Vargas

Feasting & Fasting
Lent can be more than a time of fasting; it can be a season of feasting. We can use Lent to fast from cer-tain things and to feast on others.
Lent is a season in which we can:
Fast from words that pollute; feast on phrases that purify. Fast from discontent; feast on gratitude. Fast from anger; feast on patience. Fast from pessimism; feast on optimism. Fast from worry;
feast on divine order. Fast from complaining; feast on appreciation. Fast from negatives; feast on affirmatives. Fast from unrelenting pressures; feast on unceasing prayer. Fast from hostility; feast on non-resistance. Fast from bitterness; feast on for-giveness. Fast from self-concern; feast on compassion.
Easter Flower Collection Every year we ask for your gen-erous contribution in order to decorate our sanctuary for Easter. There is a second collection next weekend February 27/28 Thank you for your generosity.

Pray for Vocations
Peter, John and James had a mountaintop experience with Jesus by witnessing His transfiguration. We too can have a mountaintop ex-perience when we open our minds and hearts to follow-ing God's Will for our lives. If you think God is calling you to be a priest, religious or deacon, contact Fr. Chris Lemieux, Vocation Director, Arch-diocese of Toronto at 416-968-997 or email [email protected]
Office of Vocations is hosting a COME & SEE WEEKEND at St. Augustine’s Seminary from Friday Feb. 26 (7pm) to Sunday Feb. 28 (1.30 pm). Provides a time to pray, to learn what seminary formation is about and time to interact and social-ize with the Seminarians & Priests of the Seminary. The weekend offers opportunities for Communal Prayer, Mass, Adoration & Confession. For more information call 416-968-0997 or email [email protected]

as they serve. ¨ Arrive 20 minutes before
the mass and proceed to the sacristy.
¨ Tell a server that you are in training and they will do the rest.
The child should be accompanied by a parent the first couple of Sundays when arriving to the Sacristy and help them find the right of altar servers gown and surplice.

Income tax receipts
Income tax receipts are ready and they will be handed out before and after all weekend masses. We ask that you make an effort
to pick them up and help us save on post-age. You can also pick them up at the of-fice throughout the week during office hours.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
We will not give out receipts for third
parties, including family members.
These are sensitive and confidential doc-
uments and only the people whose name
is on the receipt can receive them, even
if more than one person contributes un-
der the same envelope. A fee for ac-
counting services will be charged to
those who request a second copy once
it has been given out. Last year a sig-
nificant number of people lost them or
after asking someone else to pick them
up they could not find them. Processing
a tax-receipt requires the work of an ac-
countant which incurs accountant ser-
vices that should be covered by those
who request a second copy. Perhaps
this will help those who constantly lose
them each year.
Questions for Reflection:
In the blinding light, did Peter, James
and John begin to see or understand
who Jesus was?
Think of some times that you have
seen the divine not in transfiguration
but in the ordinary?
Where do you fall on the continuum
when blind trust is required of you,
with 1 being low and 10 being high?
