BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOLDeveloping character and friendships in a safe andnurturing environment.

The Y's before and after school programs are more than just child care.They're enrichment programs designed to meet the developmental needsof children with an emphasis on experiential learning, social and emotionaldevelopment and the promotion of healthy living all while providing a fun,safe and nurturing environment for children. In our programs, parents havepeace of mind, knowing their child is in a supportive environment focused ondeveloping their true potential.

SCHOOL DAYS OUTKeeping Kids Safe and Engaged When School is Out.

Looking for a child care option when your kids are out of school due to aschool holiday, weather closing or winter or spring break? When school'sout, the Y is there to keep kids safe and engaged in fun, healthy activities.Our School Day Out options are designed to engage children in healthyphysical activity and foster positive social interactions. Our programs offerthe highest-quality instruction and supervision, provided by trained andqualified staff members. Look out for our 2016-17 School Days Out campschedule!

PRESCHOOL/EARLY LEARNINGPreschool is an exciting time as children embark on new adventures in theworld of learning. At the Y, we regard each child as a unique individual whoneeds to be understood, guided, encouraged and appreciated. Our programsprovide activities where children learn, explore, build a positive self-imageand develop strong social and emotional relationships. Y programsencourage children to explore their creativity through multi-sensoryexperiences and create a language-rich environment to promote and foster alove of reading. Children are exposed to art, music, math and science as theydevelop expressive and receptive language and gross motor skills.

WHERE CHILDREN LEARN,GROW AND THRIVE.At the Y, we regard each child as a uniqueindividual who needs to be understood, guided,encouraged and appreciated. At this early age,play is a child's most important form of learningand development. We provide programs andactivities where children learn, explore, developathletic skills, build a positive self-image anddevelop social relationships with other children.

SUMMER CAMP.BEST. SUMMER. EVER!At the McCormick Tribune YMCA, we believe that childrendeserve a fun-filled and meaningful summer day camp experience.Our camp has an expanded outdoor space and provides NEWopportunities for programming, from sports to gardening, danceand cooking classes.

Our programs are committed to providing campers with the chanceto grow in spirit, mind and body, and reinforce the YMCA's corevalues of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Our staffwill provide structured activities that will take place on YMCA groundsas well as in neighboring parks.

Campers can register for one week or multiple weeks.Weekly or partial days are available.

The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming activeand developing healthy habits they will continue throughout their lives. Ina Y sports program, your child will meet friends, learn new skills, improvehis or her fitness and most importantly have fun! Whether it's gaining theconfidence that comes with learning a new sport, building the positiverelationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, or refiningand improving skills, participating in sports at the Y is about building thewhole athlete, inside and out.

DANCE CAMPSummer 1 (5 weeks) June 6-July 10, 2016Summer 2 (5 weeks) July 11-August 14, 2016

Creative Movement (Ages 5-7) Dancers will learn the basic fundamentalsof ballet. Incorporates across-the-floor drills to enhance and develop localmotor skills. Builds a foundation for understanding music and rhythmicpatterns and creative expression through movement. This class will meettwice a week for one hour and will have a culminating showcase wheredancers can show off their skills! This class will meet every Wednesday andFriday from 4 to 5 p.m. in the aerobics room.

Ballet - Beginners Level 1 (Ages 8-10) Dancers will learn Level 1 ballettraining. Incorporates vocabulary including bare work, across-the-floorcombinations and music/rhythmic patterns. This class is designed to providethe beginner level ballet technique appropriate to age and skill level.This class will meet twice a week for 1 hour and will have a culminatingshowcase where dancers can show off their skills! This class will meet everyWednesday and Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. in the aerobics room.

Dance Camp Fee: Per Session $100 Member / $200 Non-member

MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMYCLASS AGE DAY(S) TIME FEESYouth Karate @ McTrib

Youth ages 6-12 will engage in martial arts skill-building classes designed tohelp participants build confidence, boost self-esteem and feel safe.

Family Night Opportunity - Kids in the Kitchen (6-7:30 p.m.)

Get your kids involved in a hands-on cooking experience that focuses onpreparing healthy foods. Kids will learn how easy it is to make food that isn'tjust health,y but also easy to prepare. Along with nutrition and cooking, kidswill also be introduced to different kinds of physical exercise to maintain ahealthy lifestyle.
