e-Marketing ClassesThe Starbuck Area Chamber of Commerce

is partnering with the University of Minnesota Extensionto host a series of classes to assist small businesses, non-profits, and all

community members to improve their use of the internet.

    October 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 6-8 pm

at Glacial Hills Elementary SchoolStarbuck, Minn. (8/29/2014) Small businesses know the importance of usingthe Internet to reach customers and sell their goods and services. In rural Minne-sota, however, the rate of businesses with a website or web presence may be lowthan one would expect. University of Minnesota research conducted in 2012 showthat only 44% of Starbuck businesses had a website and even fewer employedsocial media. To improve the Internet presence of the Starbuck business community, the Star-buck Chamber of Commerce recently garnered funding from the Blandin Foundation to host 4 eMarketing classes this fall. Ryan Pesch, Extension Educator, will the instructor and the classes will take place at Glacial Hills Elementary from 6-8pm. To register you can email [email protected] or contact the Starbuck AreaChamber at 239-4220.The classes will give business owners and community members the strategies anideas to get a web presence and to reach their online goals. For some, Pesch writes, their goal may be to sell more products online, but Ifound that most small businesses simply want more people to find them via theInternet and walk through their door. Pesch continues, In this class series we wstart by setting up analytics with individual businesses, so each participant cantrack how much their online activities will bring traffic to their websites. My hopis that these classes will give folks the time and skills they need to either get onlior change what they are currently doing to become more successful with Internetmarketing. Besides website basics, class participants will learn about using socimedia and getting found by search engines.Source: Ryan Pesch, Extension Educator, U of M Extension Regional Center,
