St. Aloysius Parish Caldwell, New Jersey
St. Aloysius Parish Mission Statement
St. Aloysius Parish is a Roman Catholic community dedicated to celebrating the life and word of Jesus
Christ. All are welcome to deepen their spiritual and personal lives through active participation in weekly
Liturgy, the celebration of the Sacraments, Parish ministries and community activities. Acknowledging
our incompleteness and our need for God’s grace, we commit ourselves, through Baptism, to responding
to God’s call to become and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ in our time. Jesus Christ is at the center of
all of our lives.

Dear Parishioners: As we all may know the Marines jokingly say that "every day is a holiday, and every meal is a feast" in the Corps. Today, I want to play on these words and say that in this new beginning in my life-ministry at St. Aloysius Church “Every day is a blessing, and every meal is a gift”. I believe that every day is a new blessing and opportunity to build and fight for our dreams; to fall in love with Our Lord Jesus and shine with Him in our service and ministry, to whichever capacity we serve Him. Every day is a blessing
that brings to us the chance to share with our loved ones and friends the joy, mercy and love that we receive from God. I believe that every meal is a gift, especially when we celebrate the gift of the Holy Eucharist and share with somebody the gift of being in the presence of Jesus, but most importantly building our community, together.
I am ecstatic to start my 5th year of priesthood at St. Aloysius! My previous assignments: St John the Baptist in Jersey City and St. Luke in Hohokus were wonderful experiences yet I have the certitude that this new beginning is a great Gift for me and for those that I have been called to serve. I am ready to execute my vocation and any new challenges that this blessing shall bring. I want to ask you all, my community, to please help me in this process of acclimation. I anticipate, without a doubt, that my life-ministry at St. Aloysius Church will be analogous to that of the Marines idiom: “Every day will be a blessing, and every meal will be a gift”.
In Christ, Fr. Edinson E. Ramírez
