Samples?We Were Hoping You’d Ask

Svedka Vodka came to us after seeing the staff t-shirts we produced for a Miami restaurant. They were looking for a high impact design to give away to bar staff that highlighted their brand and femme bot “mascot.”

With elements from the 80’s making a comeback, we incorporated florescent colors to make a fashion statement and stand out in dimly lit bars

Based on the credibility of our online shop, Surropa.com, Univision approached SOBO to launch a line of products around their youth award show, Premios Juventud.

With rights to use just the Premios Juventud and PJ logos, we decided to focus our attention on PJ, which we believed could have brand extensions beyond the award show. We created an irreverent line of t-shirts, caps, sun glasses and wristbands, with many of the products glow-in-the-dark.

SOBO also created imagery and banners for the event to help position the brand among those attending the show.

Sushi Maki, a Japanese restaurant chain, originally requested more embroidered polos for their wait-staff. We convinced them to go in another direction… One that was sure to create impact and let their customers know that they’re not your typical, serious sushi joint.

We went with t-shirt versions of the traditional kimono for the ladies and a ninja look for the men. We also included their slogan on the back neck, “put your maki where your mouth is.”

With customers now asking to purchase the shirts, we know our mission was accomplished.

Tecate requested a unique premium that both associated their brand with the 2010 World Cup and appealed to their target audience, Mexican-Americans. The other key criteria was that the premium could not cost more than $1.00 (due to liquor laws in certain states).

SOBO came up with the idea to use face-paint in the Mexican national colors to appeal to the hard core soccer fan. The packaging was customized with emotional imagery on the front and the schedule of the World Cup games on the back.

According to Tecate’s agency, this was one of their most successful give-a-ways to date.

SOBO has worked with Miller Lite on multiple initiatives. The first was a completely custom soccer jersey that Miller used as a self-liquidator during the 2010 World Cup. The shirt was constructed from scratch and included a custom-designed Aztec graphic on the front chest with a bit of humor, in regard to the name, on the back. We also included a subtle logo pattern down each side.

SOBO has since worked with Miller designing T-shirts as well as a completely customized lucha libre mask. Both are efforts to promote their sponsorship of the Chivas Guadalajara soccer club. The mask has been so successful that we’re going on our third production run.

SOBO helped launch the first-ever t-shirt and accessories collection for the top-rated PBS show, Antiques Roadshow. The gear was originally sold on a site managed completely by SOBO but has since been taken over by the official PBS store.

SOBO also created a collection for the PBS mini-series, Prohibition. The line was so successful that they even received orders from college campuses.

Mun2 came to SOBO to help them launch a new TV show called The Mun2 Look. The partnership was with SOBO’s online shop, Surropa.com, and involved not only creating unique merchandise but also organizing a launch event and Surropa pop-up store on Miami Beach for 4 days.

SOBO handled everything from the party logistics to managing the store, which sold both Surropa and The Look gear…It was their most successful show launch event to date.

Mun2 was getting ready to launch a reality show based on the regional Mexican singer, Larry Hernandez. Mun2 was looking for an inexpensive give-a-way for fans as well as something they could give to advertising clients.

The premiums that were developed included a leather bracelet, designed by SOBO, as well as a bobble head that replicated everything from his dress to his goatee.

SOBO worked with factories in China for a quick turn-around, delivering on-time and on budget.

For the second season, of the hit show, Larrymania, Mun2 wanted to do a new bobble head and something different…

The product we decided to create was private label hot sauce. After sending the Mun2 team and Larry various flavors from which to choose, they settled on a combination of habanero and garlic.

To add further spice to the product, we also used this product to debut our new SWAG 3.0 app, which helps our customers add augmented reality to their products. By scanning the label with an IOS devise, a video almost magically appears on the label (check out blog to see how it works)

As an official sponsor of Copa America 2011, MasterCard needed polos and youth t-shirts that highlighted their sponsorship of the event. The challenge was creating a design that contained the Copa America logo (on the back of our design) and also included both the MasterCard and Banco Santander logos.

Their original idea was to place the event logo on the front and the other logos on each sleeve. Based upon the success of one of the designs we sell on Surropa.com,we proposed a different strategy.

According to MasterCard, both the polos we designed for adults as well as the t-shirts for kids, were a huge success.

SOBO was recommended to Super Hero Scramble by one of our t-shirt suppliers.

They initially only thought we could only print t-shirts but quickly found out that we are truly a one-stop-shop. We helped them design & develop develop additional products such as caps, shot glasses, coozies, beer steins, water bottles. & even fully-sublimated vendor tents.

As the event grows nationally, SOBO is able to grow with them, designing and developing more customized retail products, displays, managing warehousing and fulfillment as well as their online shop.

How to deliver a unique promotional item to a bankruptcy attorney looking to brand himself in a clever way… This was a challenge that took our team in many different directions. Finally, after getting to the heart of what he does, helping clients stop worrying about losing their cars, homes, or worse, we settled on a sleep mask to convey this message. SOBO worked together with the client to come up with text that best represented his services and puts a smile on their faces during what is an extremely stressful situation.

SOBO worked with an event marketing company, hired by The Bank of the West (BOTW), to design, source and fulfill 8 different premiums for a University of Colorado, Boulder activation.

In this case, the products, including flashlight carabiners, ear-bud cord wraps, coolies, rally towels, lanyards, t-shirts, embroidered beanies and soccer scarves had already been approved by the client. SOBO worked with Eventus to design each product, to make sure they were within budget and delivered on time.

As part of the process, SOBO delivered multiple designs for each product, which were then selected by BOTW.

The NBA came to SOBO with a request  that  involved  both  a quick  turn  around  as  well  as being able  to ship  the product to Mexico City.

In  less  than  1  month,  we manufactured  and  delivered  2 versions of a mini backboard (1 with  the  NBA  logo  and  the other,  a  co-branded  logo  with a local partner) .

Clearing Mexican  customs  can be  a  nightmare  for  most importers.  SOBO’s  local partner  facilitated  the  process and we made sure to secure all the  proper  paperwork  ahead of time.

Kellogg’s  needed  both assets (i.e. tents) as well as promotional  items  as  part of  their  sponsorship  of  a Hispanic-focused  youth soccer  tournament,  called Copita Alianza.

The  job entailed creating a unified  look  for  elements ranging  from  blow-up  & vendor  tents,  a  blow-up arch and spheres, banners, table  covers,  soccer uniforms for staff, magnetic shopping pads  and printed tournament cards.
