PRO TIP• Apply City Beats directly to clean, towel-dried hair. • No mixing with a developer is required.• The gel-cream consistency is best when used with a bowl and brush. • Avoid direct application to the scalp as staining may occur. • Allow to process at room temperature for 20 minutes and do not use heat.

If you want more vibrancy, increase the processing time to 30 minutes.

City Beats can be applied to both natural and previously colored hair. The lighter your starting level, the brighter your end result will be. As with any “top coat” color, if the canvas is uneven, the end result will be uneven. If your client has unevenly lightened hair, always make sure to even out the starting color with Pre-Art Treatment or Shades EQ Gloss before applying City Beats. Perform a skin allergy test on your client 48 hours before each use of this product. Do not use over compound henna or progressive color.

APPLICATION & PROCESSING

PRE-SERVICE STEPS SKIN ALLERGY TESTPERFORM A SKIN ALLERGY TEST 48 HOURS BEFORE EACH USE OF THIS PRODUCT, AS ALLERGIES CAN DEVELOP SUDDENLY, EVEN THOUGH YOUR CLIENT HAS PREVIOUSLY USED A HAIRCOLOR PRODUCT FROM THIS BRAND OR ANOTHER.If your client has a tattoo, the risk of an allergic reaction may be increased.

SKIN ALLERGY TEST INSTRUCTIONS• Clean an area the size of a quarter in the bend of your client’s elbow with

soap and water. Pat dry.• Apply small amount of the colorant to the test area, using an absorbent

cotton-tipped applicator. Let test spot dry. Instruct client not to wash, cover or disturb for 48 hours.

• Instruct client to examine test area periodically over the next 48 hours. If he/she experiences any reactions such as redness, burning, itching, swelling, skin abrasions, eruptions or irritation in or around the test area, DO NOT COLOR YOUR CLIENT’S HAIR UNTIL HE OR SHE HAS CONSULTED A DOCTOR.
