PULSE FASHION MODEL!S: And how has the experience been over the years?

A: It’s good. I love Fashion Night Out. I get half price, that’s what I love. I’m a cheap person. LOL. I like that, and I get to meet a lot of people, get to talk to people, and the environment, the atmosphere is just good.

S: So what then is the best part about FNO?A: The half price on the items, that’s the best part of it.

S: What were some of your favourite trends this summer?A: Hmm, let’s see. This summer I liked the prints. I was in the prints and the sheer tops, it was all about that…and leggings. I was all about that this sum-mer.

S: What are your favourite stores to visit?A: I like House of Styles, Mini’s Fashions...

S: How do you manage? What’s the crowd like there?A: A lot of hot girls will come out, any-body who’s into fashion and trending will be there. It’s a big crowd.

S: How do you rate the FNO effort?A: I really appreciate it because you get to see a lot of fashion, get to meet people, get to wrap with the store owners, you get ideas. It’s just a good environment. I like it.

If you’re ever invited to a cocktail party, try one or something similar in look or style.Choose dresses from just above the knee to touching the ankles. You don’t have to expose too much skin to look sexy and have heads turning. Instead, you might just come off as looking not so SLEEK and end up getting the wrong kind of attention. In addition, hair is everything for a woman and depending on the occasion, your makeup needs to represent the status quo.Go for dresses that accentuate your curves, and don’t bother trying to squeeze into one that’s too tight or low-cut.Any material can be dressed up or down with the right accessories. Your golds, silvers and diamonds can be worked to make a loud statement and your handbag matched with the colours of your outfit. Now go, head out and have fun, responsibly. 6

Whether it’s worn to a wedding or even a get-together, dress-es are still one of the most useful items that easily enhances the

beauty and elegance of a woman. There are several types of dresses that go well with whatever

style or design a woman desires. One of the more sexy and chic types of them all, is the cocktail dress.

Its simplicity and stylish appearance speaks for itself.

FNO GUIDELINES

1

Live by these tonight and Fashion’S Night Out as well as future shop-ping expeditions will go smooth.

Comfortable footwear is top priority. Nope, heels won’t work. There will be a massive crowd and when anywhere with such crowd, it’s not advised to wear heels.

Keep Your Handbag/Purse/Wal-lets nearUnfortunately, large gatherings are just invitation for thieves. Be aware of what’s happening around you as much as possible.

Have your bags nearA switch or steal of your bag would be rather un-pleasant. Right? So try to keep your shopping bags near or in hand.

Shop wiselyBecause the prices are drastically slashed doesn’t mean that you can’t still shop wisely. Do you need one item as opposed to another? Those are the type of questions to ask yourself before making purchas-ing items.

Look fashionable! It’s Fashion’s Night Out! You absolutely must bring that some sort of fashionable look to the table.

ASHLEY MARTINHow do you see the FNO effort over the years?

FNO has been a wonderful experience when compared to FNO in America. I think we have done tremendous as a Caribbean island and as the only Caribbean island that really gets involved in the fashion as we do to its entirety.

What’s the best part about the night?

The best part of FNO to me is when all of the shoppers are going home happy, knowing that you have fashionistas out there and other young people who on a regular basis wouldn’t be able to find certain clothes that they can afford. On FNO they get the chance to really have the expe-rience of going out, going into a store, seeing that

blouse that they’ve always wanted, and now that it’s 50% off and they can

actually get that blouse. So it’s the real happiness of the customers,

it’s like a happy ending kind of a thing if you know what I mean.

CARLTON BROWNHow would you describe the activities of FNO over the years?

In terms of participation, it’s just being out there and enjoying yourself. It’s not like there are fashion shows or fashion events per say. For me it’s more of an experience. The hustle and the bustle of the streets, getting into stores suh yuh can buy stuff. You even have people coming to me at times, basically like a consultant for that night.

What’s the best part about FNO?

It’s just being a part of everything.

What’s your Fashion Night Out must-have for males?A must have for a man at FNO is a nice white shirt. That’s one of the best items yuh can buy.

ROMEICH MAJORHow would you describe your experience in FNO over the years?

Expensive! Joke mi a mek man, it’s good, it’s a nice experience.

What’s the best part about it?

The prices that are offered. The whole feel and atmos-phere. It have a little Christ-mas vibe and feeling.

How well do you think its or-ganisation is?

It’s not something that Ja-maica do on a normal basis. I don’t have nuh complaint or problem with it.

What are you looking to get this year?

I don’t normally go for anything specific. Noth-ing special. I just usually

go out that night an go shop.

You’ve had your eye on that purse, necklace, shoe, watch, or whatever the item may be for a while. You weren’t able to purchase it before, maybe because

of its price, but the odds of you doing so have just greatly increased. It’s Fashion’s Night Out!With prices on most items in participating stores slashed to approximately half-price, consumers are once again in for a treat.SLEEK caught up with reps from BASE Kingston and Alter Ego to have a FNO chat.BASE Kingston’s Cezar Cunningham told SLEEK that he believes Fashion’s Night Out presents a good opportunity for them to reinforce the brand’s identity. But before that of course, the amount of planning that goes into an event of this nature is massive.“It’s hectic because there’s a lot to tie together. Obviously logistically there’s a whole lot of things that you have to plan for,” he said.Cezar added that shoppers at the store will be treated to a

musical delight from entertainers such as Protoje and himself. But with the hectic things aside, the experience is a grand one as can be seen on the faces of the happy customers who flock the stores. At Alter Ego, they will be gearing to make a big

FNO debut. “Since Alter EGO recently launched in April 2012, this will be our first time participating

in FNO. However, we are guaranteed to be the premier fashion oasis for FNO! We will have 20% - 80% off merchandise, complimentary cocktails & accessories, a makeup bar by CG reflections, cocktails from Spiritz Rum, weekend giveaways plus so much more at our brand spanking new location, 157 Constant Spring Road, Shop #3!“ shared Danielle Donaldson.

Both stores are among those with the hottest, latest trends from top designers. The reps guarantee shoppers prices that will “blow the mind”. 10

Teens, especially females, seem to be ad-dicted to clothes.Just get clothes, clothes, and more clothes.

The latest gadgets are being sought after by teens almost immediately after its re-lease nowadays. Wheth-er its a cell phone, game consoles or a camera, they’ll be happy with any gadget gift.

A good watch will make a perfect FNO gift for any man. You know how he likes it...simple, big, shiny, neat, however.Getting a known brand wouldn’t hurt either, after all its 50%

off.

A few new denims in the closet is a step in the right direction. Get

him some durable wears that can last

For a lady, almost nothing is sec-ond to the gift of sweet-smell-ing, aromatic perfume. But remember, almost as impor-tant as the smell is the ap-pearance of the bottle.

You can never go wrong with a necklace buy. Look at it this way...for a few days, or maybe weeks, you’ll be in

her good books. There are lots of stores therefore maybe thousands of necklaces to choose from so look around for a few good pieces before you make the purchase.

Probably the only time you won’t be considered as cheap for purchasing

an item that’s on sale for her is during tonight’s Fashion’s Night Out. So...why not make the most of the opportunity? What do you plan to get her?Oh, did we mention it’s a two way street? So don’t be afraid to dip for some dollars ladies. It’s FNO!
