1. National Safety Day Celebrations

The National Safety Day (NSD) and week was celebrated across the company from 4th March to 10th March. This year‟s theme was "Work together to ensure Safe & healthy Workplace” which is declared by National Safety Council (NSC).

Wide range of participation was observed from employees, their dependents and also contractors across the group. Employees, their dependents and contractors were encouraged to take active participation in various interesting competitions / contests viz. safety posters, safety slogans, short skits, spot the hazard, safety quiz etc. The winners were appreciated with a token a gift, certificates, and words of appreciation from senior management. Safety awareness and training sessions were also conducted for employees, employee families, contractors and in some cases for students of engineering colleges (Haldia) etc. Some of the training programs that were conducted included important topics applicable to the industry, offices, homes such as working at height, fire fighting, LPG safety etc were conducted. To further encourage the reporting of unsafe acts (STOP observations) and near-miss incidents which are vital for achieving zero incident milestone, the employees/ contractors reporting maximum number of near-misses/ STOP observations were recognized/ rewarded.
