Science Concedes the Power of ShaktipaatI started to study the science of analysing aura in 1962AD. It took me six years to

complete the study of this science. Thereafter I carried out research on thissubject for several years. I am the first person in the world to receive ISO 9001:2000 Certification. I have delivered lectures to students at Moscow MedicalUniversity six times. A persons aura extends to an area of 3 inches to 30-40metres around him. Even insentient objects have aura. I have so far studied theaura of about seven lakh people including some one thousand distinguished

persons like saints, VIPs etc.As I studied the aura of Sant Sri Asaramji Bapu, I found it so powerful thatanybody coming near him would be overwhelmed by his luminous aura andwould always remain under its compelling influence. (Aura photo on title page 2)

One of the colours of Bapujis aura is violet, which shows that Bapuji is at the acmeof spirituality. This type of aura is found only in Rishis, in perfected Masters.

The red in the aura indicates that Bapuji transmits spiritual energy into others(Shaktipaat ); takes away their negativities, weaknesses and replaces them with hisdivine energy. The sky blue colour in Bapujis aura indicates the high celestial

regions to which Bapujis aura extends.Of particularly great importance in Bapujis aura is the potency of transmitting

divine energy. In other peoples aura I found the capacity to receive energy fromothers. But the notable thing I found in Bapujis aura was the potency to destroythe negative energy of one coming into contact with him and to bestow positiveenergy on him.Another peculiar feature of Bapujis aura is the potency to transmit energy toanybody even from far off. When I went to Bapujissatsang , I found that Bapujisaura gets stretched like latex and envelops the entire gathering. The study of a persons aura reveals his previous births as well. A research on

Bapujis aura revealed that for the last ten births at a stretch, Bapuji has beendoing the pious work of serving the masses like inclining them towardsspirituality by transmitting divine energy to them throughShaktipaat , riddingthem of addictions, making them healthy, purging the society of evil practices, distributing thePrasad of Knowledge and Self-bliss etc. I could read only lastten of Bapujis births. The machine didnt have the capacity to read further.

Bapujis Sahasrra chakra and jna chakra are so highly developed that themachine could not record them fully. He has reached the zenith of perfection.None of the uras I have studied so far was found to be so highly developed as

Bapujis. I hope and wish that I will get another opportunity of studyingBapujis aura. I would like to study such highly developed aura again and again.

Dr. Hira Taparia Aura expert Pujya Bapuji is a master of infinite potencies. The above information is based only

on what the machine could read. As a TV antenna with its limited capacity can

receive waves only within its range not beyond it, the machine could study Bapujisaura to the extent of its capacity. It is not possible to gauge the aura and the divinepowers of Self-realized saints in full.Who can estimate the knower of Brahman?

Only a Brahmajnani can know the divine spiritual state of the Brahmajnani.

Even Vasishthaji, Lord Ramas Guru, says, The glory of Self-realized saints cannotbe described in full. The sage Ashtavakra says to King Janaka, Whom can theSelf-realized saints be compared to?*

    Gurujis Photograph Saved his Life

Aggrawalji, a famous merchant of Jalgaon bought a few cassettes of Bapuji and some literature.Once a man visited his shop. He purchased some goods and left after taking down

his telephone number. An hour later he called up at the shop stating, Seth! Ihad been given a contract to kill you with a huge sum of money, and I hadaccepted the assignment as well. However, on reaching your shop I happened tosee His Holiness Sant Sri Asaramji Bapus photograph. I felt as if He was sittingthere in person, and inspiring me to become a good human being! Thus Hisphotograph (rather Guruji himself appeared in that picture and) saved your

life. Crores of obeisances to GurudevWho can shower His grace even through Hispicture. - Balkrishna Aggrawal,

    Jalgaon, Maharashtra. *

The Power of a PhotographAn elder brother of Avadhbhai, asadhaka from Ahiwara, dist. Durg (Chattisgarh)

had deceased. Three days after his death, his wife was possessed by a ghost, whostarted troubling the whole family by throwing stones, shouting and beating themembers in the house due to which nobody could sleep at night out of fear.

Tantriks were called for exorcizing the ghost but to no avail. The ghost told asadhaka who had the words Hari written on his wrist, Dont touch me, it burnsme. Immediately, a photograph of Bapuji was brought before it. It closed its eyesand said, It is painful. Saying so, the ghost broke down crying. Avadhbhaibrought the photograph closer and asked, What do you feel? Who is this? theghost said, He is a great saint. His brilliance is amazing, I cannot bear it.Pujya Bapujis photographs were then put up across the whole room. The lady

remained unconscious for four hours. By the time she regained consciousness,

green grams, add a little salt to it and drink it. Since the beginning I had to gothrough this kind of forbearance. Except for the duration for which I used to boilgreen grams for myself, the rest of my time was devoted to serving my Gurudev.I used to read to my Gurudev the letters sent by His devotees and send responses tothese as per His instructions. I used to water the garden, wash utensils used forpreparing food for the visitors, buy vegetables from the market and carry out othermiscellaneous tasks. In the remaining time I used to meditate, contemplate on theDivine and listen to Gurudevssatsang .I always used to take utmost care not to do anything that may displease my

Gurudev. In the presence of my Gurudev, I used to speak less, within limits andonly as much as I was required to.

Once Gurudev was in a jovial mood and I got a chance for some light humour. Iasked Gurudev: Gurudev! The Gurubanisays Maheshwara seeks theBrahmagiani, says Guru Nanak, the Brahmagiani is the Supreme LordHimself.

Gurudev said: Yes, that is true.I said: So has Maheshwarasought the Brahmagiani? If not, then should I go now

and tell Him?Gurudev exclaimed: Shut up!Even now when I recall those sweet days, I am overwhelmed with joy! The bliss that

I used to experience at the holy feet of my Gurudev, aha, that can nowhere beobtained. O, how I long for those days when I was fortunate to listen tosatsangat the holy feet of my Gurudev! It is much more blissful to sit at the holy feet of Gurudev than to be a Gurumore auspiciousmore joyful.

Theft of God or Realization of God?

You may practisesadhana for 50 years on your own, visit temples and mosques andkeep offering devotional services. But the ultimate goal still remains unattained. Thesaint-poet Narsi Mehta has sung

All sadhanas are illusory so long as one does not know the essence of Self. One makes rapid progress insadhana in the presence of aJivanmukta saint. Thestate one attains as a result has been described by Sant Kabir as thus:

My mind like a bird began soaring in the sky. The heaven was vacant, God being with the saints. The first time I had gone to live with my Guruji, when I was just a novice, I wasstunned at His behavior. Later I realized that it was His grace and compassion thatHe lived with us so simply so that we also could comprehend His supreme

experience and strive for the same. Sometimes, Gurudeva was so harsh that if someone were unfortunate, he would instantly run away. Sant Pritamdasji hasthus proclaimed:The path of the Lord is for the brave, cowards dare not tread it.

The period of sadhana is like a fierce battle field. It might be some good fortune andthe grace of the Guru that I managed to live there. To stay at the feet of theBrahmajnan i is by no means an easy job.

His loud voice, angry mood and harsh behavior would have scared any ordinarysadhaka , who could not have endured it for even an hour. That is why not many

disciples could live with my Gurudev for longer time. What can I tell you aboutthe way Gurudev used to behave, the manner in which He used to scold! At thattime it was my daily routine that I would take water only after having

worshipped Lord Shiva and having made offering of water to Him. One day theidol of Lord Shiva and articles used in worship were stolen. Those who had stolen were being supported by Guruji and they were making fun of me. Though, worshipping Lord Shiva and making offering of water to Him is notbad at all. After taking my bath I used to bathe Lord Shiva. I used to cook my ownfood and consume it only after offering it to Lord Shiva. But now, my Lord Shivawas stolen. One co-disciple said to Guruji: Bapu!Bapu! Asumal is sad today. He says his God has left himsomeone has stolen Him.Bapu! Someone has stolen his God. Pujya Gurudev said derisively: Oh! God has

been stolen. How surprising! This way Gurudev made fun of me. On one hand I had not eaten anything the wholeday; my God had been stolen. On the other, Gurudev was also making fun of me.Just imagine how it would have been felt? What kind of a saint is he? - What if I had let such a foolish thought crop up in my

mind? But that did not happenthanks to the grace of my Gurudev. Later Irealized that the abode of theBrahmajnani is not meant for remaining entangledin external worship. My Gurudev had devised such a play to make me to turnaway from external image of God to get established in the real Being of God. Ohow benedictory and unique is His compassion! How subtle is each and everyword, each and every gesture of theBrahmajnani Guru. How could an ordinaryperson realize that?

Seeking far and wide, diamond-mine at home.

Without the Satguru who will, make you cognise that. What theVedantanishtha great man can easily give you, no one else can - be it your

mother, father, husband, wife, friends,Sankhya and Yoga philosophies or ritualsand worship. Such great saints have transcended their identification with thebody. By encouraging the seekers and if need be by even pushing them, theymake others climb the Mount Everest of Knowledge.*

Be Inquisitive Pujya BapujiA boy asked his teacher, Sir! What should I do to become great?

The teacher said, Do you really aspire to become great?Yes sir! Will you do as I tell you to?I will. How will you do that?I will find the way.

The teacher said, Very well; then you can become great. One who has theinquisitiveness will find the greatest secrets out of ordinary events and one bereft of that will ignore even visible secrets. An inquisitive person has a penetrative vision; he is keen to find. He examines allphenomena minutely; reflects over them. A keen sense of inquiry makes oneenergetic and diligent in work. Devoid of a sense of inquiry, man is slothful, sloppyand small. Those who desire the world or inquire into the physical world, they only get thingsof the world. Inquiring into the phenomenal world men like Einstein became

worldfamous scientists. The same sense of inquiry was the secret behind thename and fame Newton earned. The lid on a pot of boiling liquid, lifted up bythe pressure of steam, makes no difference to an ordinary cook but those with akeen sense of inquiry took a clue from the tendency of the steam to generatepressure and invented the boiler and the steam engine that runs hugelocomotives. An apple falling on the earth is nothing noteworthy for a gardenerbut the inquiring ones espied in it the law of gravitation at work and used it formany a great achievement in the field of science.

The spirit of inquiry when applied to the physical world creates marvels in the physical world; in the same way when applied to the yogic world, it works wonders

in that world. In the world of devotion too, one with the sense of inquiry getsgreatly elevated. All wonderful achievements whether in the material world, inthe field of religion or in that of philosophy have been made through inquiries. Therefore, if you want to elevate your life, be inquisitive; inquire into the Truth. If you lack the sense of inquiry, be alert; meditate and cultivate this sense in you.

There are twenty or thirty or fifty students in a class but four-five of them turnout to be brilliant. The teachers are same, the books are same; but the students, who listen attentively, make inquiries, ask questions and find out answers, maketheir parents and their schools proud. Those, on the other hand, who make funduring studies, loiter away, return late after the recess; such students get lowmarks and after getting out of the school pull the cart of life with great difficultyand die unnoticed and unsung. So, be inquisitive. When the teacher is explainingthings, listen attentively. If you are not able to understand what is taught, dontrush to ask questions; try to find out the answers yourself. If you cant solve ariddle, only then should you ask a fellow student or the teacher.

Ask yourself the whys and hows of things and try to understand what is being

said.Someone comes and says, Bapuji! My intellect is not all that sharp. Dont worry if you are low in intellect. Whatever your deficiencies, the solution to it is hidden inyou. Rub the palms of your hands against each other and assert, I have in myhands the power to awaken my sense of inquiry, my memory and my well being.

Hari . Hari. Hari. Hari. Let my memory and my sense of inquiry beawakened. Hari. Hari. Hari. My memory and my sense of inquiry isbeing awakened. Hari. Hari. Hari. In this way, remember the Lord

  • 8/14/2019 Rishi Prasad - 191 Nov 08

    7/23

and then touch with your palms each one of the spots where you havedeficiencies. This will be of immense benefit to you.

If you fall ill, you need a sense of inquiry. If you didnt sleep in the night before, youshould analyse why you didnt and you need a sense of inquiry. If you are in thehabit of getting up late, you need a sense of inquiry to inquire why. If you are not

able to remember things, why is it so? If you are weak, why are you weak? Inshort, you need the help of the god of inquisitiveness every time, every where andof inquiry, even Lord Brahma instructing him will be of no avail.

Today everywhere people are out to exploit you; they want to suck you dry. When you go to the market, every salesman, every shop owner wants you to buyfrom him. He will try to give you less quantity and inferior goods and to extract themaximum price. If possible, he will not mind weighing short. While driving, if youare not careful, people will overtake you. The traffic light on the crossing is red. Youhave to stop but if you stop short of the crossing, somebody will come from behindand stand ahead of you. He will go ahead of you.Everybody is vying to overtake you. If you are not inquisitive, quick and alert, you

will lag behind in the matter of intellectual prowess, travel, serving others, andalso salvation. You should be equipped with a sense of inquiry. Why should youlag behind? Why should you be outperformed? People get beaten because of their inaptness, because of lacking a sense of inquiry, because they loose theirtemper at things big and small. You must not get agitated; neither should you bea coward, a fool, one devoid of sense of inquiry like a piece of stone. Youshould be wise, alert, and inquisitive and on top of it if you learn the art of taking a dip in the Divinity within before making all decisions, you shall attain toimmense good, to Supreme Beatitude.*

Good Company Redeems, Evil Company Leads toDestructionAs we go through the biographies of great souls, we find that whenever the

supremely benevolent saints have incarnated on earth, slanderers have left nostone unturned in maligning them. Not only do these slanderers destroy theirfamily and clan but they also lead seven of their future generations into the pit of depravity. Those who live in the company of and assist such slanderers, alsomeet with the same fate. Therefore, we should always be careful in selecting thecompany we keep.

O dear! The intellect becomes mean with the association of people who are inferior

to us, it remains stable in the association of equals and becomes superior withthe association of those who are superior to us.One does reap the fruits according to the kind of company one keeps. When the

moon is in the fifteenth mansion (Swati star), the same raindrop turns intocamphor when it comes in contact with a banana plant, poison when it enters themouth of a snake and a pearl when it falls into a shell.

Long ago, there lived a man named Chajju Bhakta in Lahore. One day he wassitting on his platform with some other villagers when a fruit vendor down the

  • 8/14/2019 Rishi Prasad - 191 Nov 08

    8/23

lane shouted, Acche santare, acche santare(literally buy good oranges, buy good oranges.) Chajju Bhakta said to his companions, Do you hear whatthat man is saying?

His companions said, He is selling santaras (oranges) Bhaktaji!Bhaktaji said, Brother! You did not understand. Listen carefully, he is saying.

Acche sang...tare (literally good company redeems). He is saying that those whoassociate themselves with good people are redeemed, while those who fall intobad company die a terrible death and meet with destruction.

Bhaktaji then gave an illustration. A crow and a swan had become friends. One daythe crow took the swan to its house and made him sit on a dry and wilted Babooltree. The place stank of dung, flesh, and bones which were scattered all around.

The swan said, Brother! I cannot stay in such a dirty place, even for a moment. If you know of any pious place, you take me there.

The crow then took him to the secret grove of the king and made him sit on the tree, and then sat near him. Underneath them both was the king who was taking rest.As the swan looked down, he saw the king sitting under the tree with his head

exposed to the sun. A swan is kind by nature, and out of compassion it spreadout its wings to provide shade to the king who felt some relief from the sun. Acrow however is wicked by nature. So it dropped its excreta on the kings head. The king shot an arrow upwards which brought the swan down, while the crowflew off quickly. The swan gave up his life as he said,

O King! I am not the crow which had dropped the excreta. I am the swan that livesin pure water, but due to the company of the mean crow, my life has been ruined. The noble ones are like the swan while slanderers are like the crow, whose company

leads even the noble ones to ruin.In the Sundar Kand Section (45.4) of Sri Ramacharitamanasa, Lord Rama says toVibhishana, May providence keep us from the company of the wicked! It would bebetter, O respected one, to live in hell. (Because the company of the evil leads to thecycle of birth and death and repeated relegation to hells).Evil company destroys good virtues and is feared by Rishi Sanak and others. All the scriptures and great souls have taught thejiva with great emphasis to stayclear of bad company. Bad company leads man to degeneration very quickly. For

example, one has to make great efforts to climb a tree, but there is no effortrequired in falling down. Similarly, one has to make great efforts to attainspiritual power and earn the wealth of sadhana ; but all our efforts carried outfor over a long period of time will come to naught in a moment by keeping thecompany of slanderers.*

Who is Guilty?(Excerpts from the satsanga of Pujya Bapuji)

One day, some sadhus came to the house of a Brahmin. The Brahmin was a devoteeof the Lord. He said to his servant, Go and bring a pitcherful of milk from soand so village. The servant went to that village and while he was coming backwith the pitcher of milk, being tired because of having had to stay awake theprevious night, he sat down beneath a tree and went off to sleep. A kite had

    9/23

caught a snake and came to that tree holding it in its beak. As it pecked at thesnake, the poison from snakes fangs fell into the pitcher. The servant wasasleep, unaware of this. As he woke up from sleep, he picked up the pitcher andresumed his journey. The Brahmin got his cook prepare the Khir. After eatingthe Khir, a few sadhus vomited it and four of them, who had poor digestion due

to deranged liver function, died. The case of four homicides came before Yama, the god of death. Yama asked GodAlmighty, Lord! Whom should I hold responsible for these homicides? TheBrahmin is not at fault nor is the servant. The kite too is not guilty for it was doingthe legitimate act of satisfying its hunger. The snake too is not responsible for it didnt wilfully throw poison in the milk. None

of the people involved the Brahmin, the servant, the cook was responsible. But four persons have died. To whose account will the sin go?

The Lord said, Charge the sin to those who malign others without any rhyme orreason.

I request you with folded hands not to lend an ear to any slanderer speaking ill of anybody. If somebody speaks ill of another, tell him, Brother! I dont haveroom for this muck. I dont take such things.

The one being maligned is likely to be enjoying life in his own way or if he is anexalted soul, he would be engaged insadhana and satsang or engrossed in thoughts

of the Lord. Why should we ruin ourselves by pouring scorn on somebody orlistening to such silly things? We should save our minds from such things.

One should always be engaged in remembering the Lord; let people quarrel with and kill one another and go to infernal regions as a consequence thereof.

This fellow is not good; that one is nasty; this man has done this; that man has donethat If somebody would denigrate another before Lord Rama, He would deftlychange the topic; or else he would leave that place. You too should do the same. Thiswill fill your heart with Self-Bliss and with the Knowledge of Real Self. Why shouldone slander somebody or listen to such things? There is no sin equalling criticism of others.A girl was married. She had been at the house of her in-laws only for two to three

days when certain guests came. Other guests left but two sisters of her husbandstayed on. Having come from a far off place, they were at their parents homefor 10-15 days. One day one of the sisters-in-law said in the course of a casualdiscussion, Bhabhi! You are a newcomer to the house. I want to tell you that mybrother has a different nature; he is very irritable. The second one said, Hehas a nasty temper. The mother-in-law too joined in, I have given birth to

your husband. He is satanic from childhood itself. You are in for a tough time. The three of them criticised their brother/son but the newly wed listened all silently. Finally, the sister-in-law said, Bhabhi! Why is it that you are not saying anything? What should I say? You are a guest; you will go to your own home in a few days.Mother-in-law too is old and, may God give her a long life, she is to leave us soonerrather than later. But I have to spend the whole life with my husband. Why should Ispeak ill of him? He is my husband, my God. The Lord abides in his heart. Whyshould I offer a willing ear to disparaging remarks about him?

  • 8/14/2019 Rishi Prasad - 191 Nov 08

    10/23

The sisters-in-law said, In that case probably you will have a good time withyour husband. We, on the other hand, have frequent squabbles in the family and fallout with our husbands. The newly wed bride said When you entertain thoughts of each others faults, quarrels are inevitable but if you have your heart full of devotional love and respectfor each other, your house will become a paradise. So it will be better if you go tosatsang of Bapuji or some any other saint. Kabir says outright and most earnestly.Happy shall I be to be the dust of the lotus feet of one who is ever busy night and

day in never-ceasingsatsang and in kirtan , of one for whom this is the foremosttask. He is a saint, of that there is no doubt. Should we even become the dust of the holy feet of those saints who are ever engaged in satsang, kirtan, jap, meditation and silence, it is sufficient to emancipate us.*

O How Great is Krishna!(Excerpts from the satsang of Pujya Bapuji)

The battle of Mahabharata was over. Sri Krishna, who was inclined to give joy andbliss to all, who habitually delighted and attracted others to him, approached the

blind king Dhritarashtra and the the queen Gandhari whose eyes were bound ina napkin in loyal lifelong penance for her husbands blindness, to console them.Sri Krishna was accompanied by Yudhishthira.

As soon as they came near Gandhari, her eyes fell on the toe of Yudhishthirathrough a little space in the napkin, and at once the toe was charred black. Such wasthe fire of rage burning within her and such was the power of her penance.

Afterwards, all the Pandavas, Sri Krishna, Dhritarashtra and the women of the Kuru clan went to the battle field of Kurukshethra. There they found the widows of the Kuru clan in deep lamentation. Hearing the wailing, the annoyed Gandhari pronounced O Krishna! Listen clearly. Now the anguish in my heart is going to hit you in theform of a curse. If you had liked, this battle could have been avoided. Now, here comes my curse. I, Gandhari, with the might of my penance, curse you, that just as I have to witness the death of all my children, you too Krishna, willwitness the destruction of your entire Yadu clan. Just as my sons lost their livesfighting their cousins, so also will your sons die fighting each other. And more, youtoo shall leave this world due to an ordinary cause. Just as today these women of theBharata clan are wailing, so also will women of your family cry at the loss of theirnear and dear ones. Now just see how astonishing is the equanimity and wisdom of Sri Krishna ! Witha beautiful smile playing on His luminous face, Sri Krishna said to Gandhari, OGandhari ! May your utterances come true and may it not happen any differently.

The people of the Yadu clan are so powerful that no human can bring their end.The Devas, Asuras, Yakshas, Gandharvasand Kinnaras cannot destroy them

  • 8/14/2019 Rishi Prasad - 191 Nov 08

    11/23

either. But death is inevitable for one who is born. The only manner then, inwhich they can meet their end, is that they fight each other. The inevitable law of nature will be fulfilled only in this manner. You have just declared what wasimpending.

May your words come true. But take this advice Gandhari. You may curse me and

my progeny, but pray, be not disturbed. Let your heart not burn in anguish!Calm down and protect your heart. Pray, do not misuse your powers to inflictpain on yourself. It is the divine law that one who is born must die, and it may bedue to any cause. If such be the cause for destruction of the Yadu clan, so will ithappen. What is so overwhelming about this? However, whether one becomesaffected by it by being remorseful or not, is in ones own hands. O Gandhari !Respect your discrimination.

O how great is Sri Krishna and His respect for discrimination! Pray tell, why will itnot make Sri Krishna so endearing to me? How wonderful is the beloved SriKrishna! How even-minded He is! What befitting use of discrimination andstrength!

Sri Krishna conquers the Kaliya snake in the river bed of the Yamuna and danceson its hoods. When the heels of Sri Krishna strike the hoods, some break off andthen get replaced by new hoods. All the while Sri Krishna keeps playing hissweet flute. You may think if Sri Krishna has dived into the depths of theYamuna and is dancing on the hoods of Kaliya - will not water enter into theflute? How will the flute play when Sri Krishna is submerged in deep water?

Let us make use of our discernment here and understand the underlying meaning. The snake Kaliya with its numerous hoods symbolizes the numerous desires. When one desire gets fulfilled, another arises, like the hoods of Kaliya. Thehoods keep breaking and rising, but Sri Krishna is unperturbed. He keepsplaying His flute, denoting Wisdom, and arousing the bliss of the Self. The wifeof Kaliya prays to Sri Krishna, i.e., the desires come back.

Kaliya questions Sri Krishna O Lord! You are the Creator. You have created venomous snakes like me and also the gods who drink nectar. What is my fault inthis? I am poisonous because nature has made me so. TheSrimad Bhagvatam saysthat Sri Krishna was silent on hearing this.He accepted Kaliyas words of discrimination. Sri Krishna is the true embodimentof wisdom. Sri Krishna replied Alright, I shall not kill you, but leave this place. You are causing distress to many. My nature is to shower bliss and your acts are anobstruction to that.Sri Krishna spares Kaliyas life. He does not kill him or snatch his venom from him,but asks him to go to another place. In the same way, I do not ask you to eliminate

desire, anger, greed and delusion that trouble you, but to change their course. You desire to obtain something or the other. Let this yearning be turned toattain God, to obtain inner peace, to yearn for silence and solitude or if you wishto enter public life, yearn for the welfare of the people. The orientation of youryearning, when changed, can lead you to God. The yearning forKama will get

  • 8/14/2019 Rishi Prasad - 191 Nov 08

    12/23

sublimated into attainment of Rama. In this manner, your wisdom will be put togood use. The same applies for anger. For how long will you try to suppress it?Just re-channelize it in a different direction. If greed overpowers you, thenchannelize it towards greed for doing moreJapa , more meditation, more acts of benevolence and acquiring more divine knowledge. The same goes for other

attachments and passions.Sant Tulsidasji has said Develop attachment towards the Lord, and equanimity towards the world so says Tulsi.O Lord, I have experienced these worldly pleasures, now have mercy such a prayer shows your discrimination. However great may be the amount of praise, pleasures and comforts you attain how long will they last and what will remain in the end? Therefore, yearn for thereal joy, the bliss of the Self, the Atman.Your real self, the Atman, is bliss personified. If there is sorrow, worry or fear, it isdue to the lack of discrimination. Keep awakening your discrimination. As you grow

in discrimination, you will also grow in dispassion and gain theshat-sampatti ,the six spiritual wealths of Shama (control of the mind),Dama (control of thesenses),Titiksha (forbearance),Samadhan (freedom from doubts),Shraddha(faith) andIshwar- Pranidhan (concentration of mind on God).

Then the yearning forMoksha (liberation) will automatically arise.Moksha meansliberation from all sorrows forever and attainment of the Supreme Bliss.*

The Key to Become a Great Conquerer(Excerpts from the satsang of Pujya Bapuji)

All the vices in the world from small troubles to the biggest calamities, even themost dreadful one of the tyrannous cycle of birth and death come to us becauseof viciousness of the mind. We come to this world again and again; again andagain we hang upside down in mothers wombs; while in the world, we bear thesufferings of childhood feeling dependence and slavery at every step; desire, anger, attachment, hatred, fear, worry, malice, jealousy and envy get the betterof us in youth; diseases seize and flatten us in old age; and in the end, death iswaiting to pounce upon us. All of these troubles are born of defects of the mind.

We are miserable and are subjected to the grinding cycle of birth and death not forwant of wealth nor because we dont have certificates and degrees nor becausewe are married or unmarried. We have deprived our mind of the peace of Consciousness. That is why it does external activities in search of happiness andbites at bits of momentary pleasures. Mired in transient pleasures, our mind isalways engaged in thoughts like, May this happen may I get this may I earnthis much wealth may I get such and such achievement but even if all thesewishes are fulfilled, one fails to find absolute contentment because Supreme Self alone is absolute. This sloka is telling us a way to repose our mind in thatSupreme Self.

Satsang , relinquishment of desires, Self enquiry for Knowledge and dissolution of the operating waves of Prana into their original source these are the means toconquer the mind.

Listen tosatsang . It eradicates many evils and gives countless benefits but thehighest benefit of satsang is Knowledge of, repose in and love for the Supreme

Self, the absolute Truth, the eternal joy. The Truth personified God that existedbefore the beginning of time, existed at the beginning of aeons, is there now andwill continue to be there eternally; that provides all wealthy men with theacumen to earn and retain wealth; that provides all powerful men the ability toattain and hold on to power; that has provided thousands of men and womenwith handsomeness and beauty; that has provided all wise men with wisdom. That is called Supreme Self, the Atman.

Brahman is Truth, Knowledge, Infinite. Nothing else exists in reality. By virtue of things borrowed from that Eternal Truth, we become something for a while. But He is the one in whom billions like us come into being and then dissolve in Him.That Brahman, the Eternal Truth, Supreme Self is attained throughsatsang .Therefore, the sloka says, we should havesatsang in life. There are four types of satsang . To get established in the Supreme Self, the Absolute

Truth, by making the intellect finer and subtler is thesatsang number one. KingJanaka, Buddha, Mahavira, Kabir, Adi Shankaracharya, Guru Nanak,Jnaneshwar, Tukaram and many other renowned and unknown saints reposedin the Eternal Truth and became one with God. Being established in God in thesame way issatsang number one. Listening to such saints directly issatsangnumber two. Those who read with great reverence and understand the recordedutterances of such saints are doingsatsang number three. Those who listen toperiodic readings of the spiritual texts composed by such saints, sages, scholars

and savants, where the message often gets diluted and becomes more of rhetoric, are havingsatsang number four known asKatha .Satsang helps you in attaining nonattachment. What is non-attachment? It is theeyes that see, but one identifies himself with the eyes and thinks, I am seeing.Similar is the case with hearing, tasting and smelling. Again, the mind thinks butone says, I am thinking; the intellect is doing the work of decision making but onesays, It is my decision. My dear sir! What are you in reality? You havedisintegrated and distributed yourself.Satsang will tell you that the senses are doingthe job of seeing, smelling etc. not you.All actions are wrought in all cases by the qualities of Nature only. He whose mind

is deluded by egoism thinks: I am the doer(Read full article in Rishi Prasadmagazine).

    Knowledge is Essential Pujya Bapuji

cheerfulness long-lasting. This knowledge one may have but when one becomescovetous of carnal pleasure, continence is broken and one falls for sensual pleasures, even if to repent later. So happiness too is needed along with knowledge. It is true and you agree also that it is not good to tell lies; that we dont gainanything by harming anysbody. We all know that we should speak the truth. We dospeak the truth but when some misery befalls, we give a go by to truth and speakuntruth. Why? To get happiness. Why do we tell lies? To get happiness. Why do we breakcontinence? Because we want happiness. So happiness is your essential requirement.

The holy Ganga started its voyage from Gangotri. Singing and waving, it isrunning towards the Gangasagar (the mouth of holy Ganga). The water of Ganga is heading towards the place from where it had emanated. In the sameway, your life aspires to attain your Real Being. You have emanated from theabode of absolute bliss, from God, which is Existence, Bliss and KnowledgeAbsolute (Sat-Chit-Anand ).

And that what you call I has arisen from God, the abode of Absolute Bliss. That Idoes whatever it does to reach the Absolute Bliss exactly in the same way as allefforts of the holy Ganga are towards reaching the sea, her original source. Out of selfishness, we arrest her flow and make it into a pond. Then its sacred water willnot reach Gangasagar. Similarly, when we divert the mind to any wrong notion outof ignorance, our life is stunted. Though we make effort to get happiness, our life isobstructed in the pond of desires because we do not know that our own Self is Blisspersonified. Thus our life is wasted and we are subjected to various births by themomentum of desires. We are instructed by the scriptures and accept the rules andmoral codes ordained thereby; but we break those rules when we are overcome byfear or tempted by desire for pleasures. And we have a downslide.

What should we do in such a situation? In order to overcome the lure of pleasureand the fear of pain, we need knowledge, whether that knowledge is theknowledge of Self or yogic method to attain Self-bliss. When these methods andKnowledge begin to provide Self-bliss within, we will become fearless. Then ourlife will be guided by Knowledge and wisdom and we will not stray from thepath.

Whatever action one may do, without attaining that Knowledge, it results intoproblems and miseries. The same actions, when guided by Knowledge take yourmind to the state of non-doership i. e. the state where actions dont produce anybondage

of any kind. The knowledge of Vedas and Upanishads is such an art that infuses

such skill in actions that one experiences the eternal Brahman even while livingin this transient world.(Read full article in Rishi Prasad magazine).

The Greatest Benefactor(Excerpts from the satsang of Pujya Bapuji)

Maharshi Vasishtha, the Guru of Lord Rama said, Rama! Kingdom and royalriches are attained only when one fights doggedly in the battle and wins. Victory

  • 8/14/2019 Rishi Prasad - 191 Nov 08

    16/23

is not attained by uttering the word victory. Can you become a king byrepeatedly saying, May I be victorious and become a king? You cant. If youwant to become a king, you have to wage and win a war. You have to struggle inorder to attain royal riches. Same is the case with spiritual riches; you have tostruggle in order to attain them.

One shouldnt be chicken-hearted. The weaker you are, the more miserable youbecome and the more you are troubled. Whatever you want to attain, sincerelyendeavour for it. If you want to attain Godrealization, make constant endeavours inthat direction. If you want to realize God, can you do so by being averse to thescriptures and to the Guru?Similarly, if you want to attain Knowledge of Brahman, you will succeed only if you

make constant endeavours taking on all the difficulties that come your way. Ihad decided upon a forty-dayanushthana .

In between, my relations came and begged me to return home. My mother was intears and so was her daughter-in-law. The entire village joined in their wailing butmy decision was firm. I would not leave before the completion of those forty days. If

you have decided on a 100-dayanushthana , why should you reduce it to 99 days? You must carry it on to 100 days. You start doing some devotional practice, abandon it after two days and start another no, this is not the way. Perseveranceis an essential element of devotion.Maharshi Vasishtha says, Rama! Neither the father, mother and friends norpilgrimages, sacrifices and other merits can bring the good which can be brought byfrequently reflecting over my teachings. Yes, the good that ensues from repeatedlyreflecting over the message of scriptures, over the Knowledge of Ultimate Truth cannever come from parents, kinsmen, pilgrimages, wealth and power. What can the relatives give? They can at the most give properties, money or some

other material benefits and facilities. You may develop attachment towards themleading to agitation and you will in any case remain subjected to the cycle of birth and death. But Self-enquiry brings the good that parents and relativesnever can. Therefore, dont waste time in worthless gossip and start the practiceof Self-enquiry,japa of Aum kar and reposing in Self.*

The Cardinal and Supremely Beneficent Teaching(The Divine Sage Naradas Precepts to Shukadeva - Continued from issue 189)

One who keeps on trying never comes to grief. It is desirable for man that he shouldconstantly strive for attainment of liberation and save his Self, the dearest one, fromthe cycle of old age, death, and disease. As the arrows shot by a strong bowmanpierce the body of his opponent and cause pain, physical and mental ailments causepain to living beings. Tormented continually by new desires and wishing for life, disgusting though it is, the haplessJiva slides towards ruination and the body isconstantly pounded in the process. The flowing stream, carrying with it straws anddry blades of grass, never comes back. In the same way, the flowing stream of timecarrying with it the days and nights of lifespan of living beings never comes back.

  • 8/14/2019 Rishi Prasad - 191 Nov 08

    17/23

Dark fortnight and bright fortnight unfailingly follow each other. The processdoesnt stop even for a moment and depletes the life of men moment by moment. The sun rising and setting at regular intervals gives rise to eternal flow of days andnights, which being ageless and deathless itself subjects living beings to pleasure andpain, birth and death. The mighty Time causes before our very eyes events, which

had never even been imagined earlier. The living beings, wealth, and other things, which were before our eyes are nowhere to be seen. The yesterdays have taken themalong. Had there been no law of karma or fate, man could have done whatever hewanted. Even intelligent, astute, and continent men are seen to meet failures in life, that is, are miserable and poor. On the other hand, veritable fools, dim-witted mendevoid of all virtue and the lowest of the low are found to be full of wealth andhappiness though they are disapproved by noble and righteous men. Similarly, agreat many people, who are ever engaged in killing animals etc. and in cheatingothers, such fallen people too pass their lives in peace and happiness. You will findslothful men who dont make any effort at earning wealth; yet wealth flows to themas if self-propelled. And then there are many others who toil and struggle day and

night but fail to attain wealth. Some noble and affluent men try all kinds of things tobeget offspring so that they have successors to their legacy, but their wishes are notfulfilled. Their wives fail to conceive. On the other hand there is no dearth of licentious men, who indulge in unbridled sex and shrink from the thought of theirparamours becoming pregnant. They fear pregnancy in much the same way as manfears a snake.Ironically, such people become parents of healthy long-living sons, much against

    their wishes. (Contd.)

The Miraculous Effect of Gurus Grace and ofSaraswatya MantraI am a physiotherapist by profession. I was not very bright as a student. In the tenthclass, I got a mere 35 per cent marks in Maths and 58 per cent marks in Science.

The school authorities refused to admit me to the Science group saying I couldnever become a doctor. Somehow, I cleared twelfth standard exams and gotadmitted to Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B. P. T.) course. It was a tough task andI found it very difficult to remember medical terms. In the midst of thesehappenings, my good fortune took me to Pujya Bapujissatsang in December2004. I listened to thesatsang very attentively and greatly impressed byPujyashris heart-reaching words, I tookDiksha of Saraswatya mantra.

Thereafter, I started doing mantra-japa, meditation and Bhramari Pranayam etc.

as directed by Pujya Bapuji. In just a few days, this had a miraculous result andmy intellect became sharper and more astute with each passing day. Evenduring my studies, I invented two wheel chairs highly useful in physiotherapy.

The world-renowned American Dr. Ruri Cooper, who is known as the father of wheel chair praised me heartily in a conference and said, I too was thinking of

doing something on these lines, but you have performed a virtual miracle.Of the many awards which I have received, the most important one is the national

I have been heartily praised for this prizealso because of the fact that all other awardees were P. H. D. and were highlyexperienced, whereas I got the award at a very young age. I attribute all thesesuccesses to Param Pujya Sant Shri Asaramji Bapu. All this is the miraculous

Pujya Bapuji said, Mercy is Gods nature. He never espies anybodys weaknessesor shortcomings. Everybody is His own and He is ever engaged in the good of all.If you get united with God, you will never be wanting in bliss.

As Bapuji prepared to finish His discourse and gave indications of leaving forMuradabad, thesadhakas pleaded, A little more Bapu! But due to paucity of

time, Bapuji had to leave putting the congregation on chants of Lords name. Amere 45 minutes discourse cast a spell on the people. The Ashram was set up at thisplace ten years ago and the devotees here had been waiting for Pujya Gurudevs

And all the powerof Samkalpa originates from the Eternal, thePure Consciousness. Having concentrated his mind on ones Real Self, if in addition,

one cultivates three things, one will be successful in finding miraculous powers, bliss and in unravelling mysteries. The three things are Knowledge of, Love for

and repose in the Lord.Interpreting life as the amalgam of happiness and sorrow, Bapuji laid stress on

Therefore, one should preparekhir and before eating, keep it exposed to the rays of the Moon
