Day 1 of my service learning journey....§ I was introduced to one of the Assistant Principals Mrs. Adderly. She

acted as my head supervisor and she signed offed on my service learning form. She than introduced me to Mrs. Lewis which is a 1st grade regular teacher. I informed Mrs. Lewis that I was there to observe and to help out were ever she needed assistant in. The first grade students were very curious of me observing them. I took that time to look around the class and observe the classroom setup. There were 22 students and the classroom was setup in a learning friendly environment and manner. The poster boards and room decor were eye catching and bright in an attempt to draw the kids attention. The kids were seated in groups to observe the teacher and the marker board. Mrs. Lewis' class consisted of 22 students..

Day 3 & 4 of my service learning journal...

§ I was introduced to Mrs. Samuda because I expressed an interest in observing a special education or ESE classroom setting. I was very curious so I asked many questions which brought on my interviewing the teachers. Mrs Samuda taught for 11 years. She teaches ESE students from grades 1 through 3rd grade. She only has a total of 10 students per setting. I helped pass out work after I introduced myself to the little ones...

I noticed that the classroom were filled with diversity..Which can be described as....

§ A field with a rainbow of colors...

Teachers are so precious and can be described as a tree being a canopy and protecting the road..

● And school can be like a magical castle in the sky..

In conclusion or my journal I learned so much about how hard teachers work to expand the minds of our kids.. All teacher were very creative and adventurous in teaching the students.. They were indeed dedicated to their craft, which is in teaching our kids...
