Explanation about existing street lights

• We have total 32 Solar Street Light

pole at the Inorbit Vashi premises

• These are all 185AH battery

installed off grid solar PV panels

which has been installed at the out

side parking and passage areas .

• All the street light are not in

working condition due to battery

failure and their accessories

failure. (i.e. Battery Charger,

Battery, Cable, Led Lights)

Commercial Calculation For existing Off grid

solar street Lights to make operational

• Total No of Solar Street lights = 32 No's

• Batteries including all accessories and installation

expenses =12000 /-

• So its =32x12000 =3,84,000 /-

As it is an off grid system with 2 ft X 3 ft size of PV solar

panels which can generate 160 w per mint from the

one street light, it produces around 160*32 = 5120

Watts (i.e. 5.1 kW per mint in full sun shine ).

On-grid Solar System On this we can remove all the PV panels and install it in the terrace

open space with On-grid (Grid tied) solar inverter and we can generate some 5.1*8= 40 units per day so its come around 1400 units per year. (We Can Save around 1000 units of co2 emission).we can connect it to the Mall Office DB panel with Single Phase Meter to monitor the Generation of this PV Solar panels.

In off-grid system, it requires batteries and its maintenance, but in on- grid system it do ’t require batteries. It requires only on-grid inverter that will generate direct A/C voltage & can be directly connected to the grid from Mall office DB & get utilized.

Its come with 5 years warranty and no need for any maintenance .

So I’ suggesting to go for on-grid solar system by replacing existing street light PV panels to get the better utilization of solar system .

This on grid system also more cheaper than battery purchase cost and its installation cost.

Explanation about our existing solar modules

In our panels there is 12*3 cells

at each module which can

generate 80 watts .

We have total 32*2 = 64 No's of

modules to set up an array,

which can generate ~ 5.1 kW.

Execution of solar project • PO given to SWELECT solar power for the execution of project.

• Solar PV panels had been removed from existing street light Poles.

• Panel structure mounted with standing capacity of 150 kms(wind speed) above mall office.

• Removed 60 PV panels mounted on structure.

• Cabling has been done from PV panels to mall office DB room.

• On Grid/Grid tide inverter has been mounted at mall office DB room.

• PV panels DC single phase source(375 Vdc) has been connected to inverter panel.

• AC output from the inverter has been connected to PDB (R-phase) panel with 32Amps 2-pole MCB.

• Charged the panel with DC source and observed that the On Grid/Grid tide inverter has started generating the A/C voltage .

Observations after installation .

• After the installation of the project we have observed

that the panels are generating average of 8.5 kWh per

day due to the weather condition and also due to the

deprecation of panels is very high since its not been

utilized from march 2010 as per the records we have .

• Since the ROI calculation is getting increase we have

calculated and arrived with the average of 16.5 kWh will

be the per day generation of this panels on the year end

considering the Indian weather circumstances .
