The 95-year-old former president and Nobel Peace Prize winner died in Johannesburg after fighting a lung infection. He had been ill for nearly a year, however his death still sent shockwaves throughout the world. Tributes flooded in immediately and U.S president, Barack Obama said the world had lost "one of the most influential, courageous and profoundly good human beings that any of us will share time with on this earth".

2) A. Scotland A police helicopter crashed into the roof of a busy pub in Glasgow, Scotland. Over 100 people were in the pub at the time watching a live band and two police officers and a pilot were on board the helicopter. 32 people were taken to hospital.

4) C. Thailand A group of 852 students in Thailand created the shape of a festive tree in a shopping mall in Bangkok. They wore green, red and brown hoodies and managed to beat Germany’s previous record of 672.

5) D. Taylor Swift & Jon Bon Jovi Swift and Bon Jovi were guests at Kensington Palace where William was hosting an event in honour of his youth homelessness charity, Centrepoint. The prince has been a patron of Centrepoint since 2005 and his late mother, Princess Diana, was also a patron of the charity. The trio sang ‘Living On A Prayer’.
