1 PROJECT BACKGROUND 1.1 IDENTIFICATION OF PROJECT AND PROJECT PROPONENT The proposed project is an expansion of bulk drug unit at Gut No./S. No. 65, H.No 2(pt), Village Gatesh Budruk, Khanivali Road, Shirish Pada, Tal. Wada, Dist. Palghar, Maharashtra by M/s Synergia Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd.

Synergia life Science Pvt Ltd. (SLSPL) is a closely held Private Limited Company. The company was incorporated on 29th March 2004 as a Private Limited Company vide Certificate of Incorporation U 24230 MH 2004 PTC 145390 as per Company Act. The registered and Administrative office of the Company is situated at 6/312, Jogani Industrial complex, V N Purav Mark, Chunabhatti, Mumbai-400022. The company is owned & managed by renowned Directors. List of Directors is mentioned in Table 1

The unit is having valid consent to operate from MPCB and amended for the production of products mentioned in the Table 2. The unit proposes to expand its production capacity. Details of the proposed expansion is as mentioned in Table 2.

1.2 NATURE OF THE PROJECT The project is brown field project. The project shall manufacture various products. The plant will be developed with state-of-the- art facility over the area of 3.75 acres

1.3 EMPLOYMENT GENERATION (DIRECT AND INDIRECT) DUE TO THE PROJECT

There shall be employment total 91 nos. namely Staff of 28, Worker 55 and Contract person 8. There shall be indirect employment generation too.

2 PROJECT DESCRIPTION 2.1 TYPE OF PROJECT INCLUDING INTERLINKED AND

INTERDEPENDENT PROJECT The proposal involves production of Probiotics, vitamin K2-7, Silver water, natural ferments etc. The process majorly involves fermentation process. No chemical reactions are involved. The proposed project is proposed under category 5(f) A category of EIA notification 2006 and amendment thereof and requires prior environmental clearance from EAC, Delhi.

2.2 PROJECT LOCATION The proposed project is located at Gut No./S. No. 65, H.No 2(pt), Village Gatesh Budruk, Khanivali Road, Shirish Pada, Tal. Wada, Dist. Palghar, Maharashtra. The latitudes and longitudes of the proposed project is Lat: 19°36'54.26"N and Long.: 73° 6'38.95"E.

2.3 DETAILS OF ALTERNATE SITES Since the proposed project is an expansion project within the existing project premises no alternative site was considered.

2.6 RESOURCE AVAILABILITY 2.6.1 Water Requirement The total water requirement of the proposed project will be 40 KLD which will be source from bore well. NOC from ground water extraction from local body received vide dated 17/06/2009 2.6.2 Energy/power requirement Existing the power requirement is 755 kVA and after proposed expansion will be 1000 kVA which will be sourced from MSEDCL

2.7 WASTE MANAGEMENT 2.7.1 Effluent management 12 KLD Effluent generated will be treated upto tertiary level at the existing effluent treatment plant of 12 KLD within the factory premises.10 KLD of sewage generation shall be Treated in septic tank followed by soak pit. Over flow of the same is used in irrigation within the premises.

2.7.2 Solid waste management Details of the solid waste generation and its management is as mentioned below

Will be Stored in an hazardous waste storage area and sent to Mumbai Waste Management (CHWTSDF) facility at Taloja.(Membership No MWML-HzW-VAD-2357. For proposed no hazardous waste will be generated as it will be converted into bio fertilizer.

2. Nonhazardous waste (Biomass from the process)

700 kg/day Will be Stored and given to farmer for utilization as manure due to its nutritive value.

3. Empty Plastic drums

3 SITE ANALYSIS 3.1 CONNECTIVITY The project site is 500 m away from the vada bhiwandi state highway. All transport shall be carried out through existing road facilities in the area. Nearest Railway station from the project site is Atgaon @ distance of 26 km towards South East direction. Nearest airport from the project site is Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at a distance of 64 km towards south west direction.

3.2 LANDUSE AND TOPOGRAPHY (ALONG WITH MAP) The proposed project being expansion project within the existing industry , there is no change in landuse. The existing landuse is industrial. Toposheet map showing the project site and study area is as shown below

3.3 EXISTING LAND USE PATTERN AND SOCIAL INFRASTRUCTRE AVAILABLE

The existing landuse of the site is industrial. There shall be no change in landuse of the site. No surface water body except nallah abutting the project site is observed in the downwind direction of the project. The vaitarna river is in the upwind direction at a distance of 1 km in north from the project site. Populated residential area in the downwind direction are observed beyond the 2km aerial distance from the project site. Tungareshwar National Park is at a distance of 11.40 km in the North West of the project site. Gates Budruk Village is at a distance of 0.9 km in north from the project site. Gurukrupa Hospital is at distance of 5.6 km in the NE direction from the project site. ZP school Wada No. 1 is at a distance of 5.4 km in the NE direction from the project site.

4 PROJECT SCHEDULE AND COST ESTIMATES 4.1 PROJECT SCHEDULE: The proposed expansion is proposed to be accomplished and commissioned within 3 years from the receipt of the environmental clearance.

4.2 PROJECT COST The proposed project cost is Rs. 7 crores.

5 PROJECT BENEFIT AND RECOMMENDATION 5.1 PROJECT BENEFIT The proposed project will generate direct and indirect employment in the area. The propose project being zero liquid discharge there shall be no impact on the surrounding water environment. Utilized proposed will be electric based except baby Boiler which shall be LPG based , hence no major impact proposed with respect to air environment. The DG proposed are backup option to be used only in case of power failure which is very incident in the proposed area. CSR and CER activity shall be carried out by company which shall benefit the surrounding area for social benefits. The waste generated is proposed to be reach in nutrient content being biomass and shall be beneficial for the soil conditioning to the nearby farmer.

5.2 RECOMMENDATION Looking to the project benefits and magnitude of the impact on the environment which is predicted to be very low the proposed expansion project shall be beneficial to the society on long term.
