Formerly known as the Prelude race meeting to

the Easter Racing Carnival, ‘The Hills Gourmet

Gallop ’ at Oakbank will launch the South

Australian Jumps Racing Season in style.

‘The Hills Gourmet Gallop’ brings live racing and

stunning local food and beverages together in

an iconic country setting. Local wine producers

Sidewood, Somerled and Golding will be

showcasing a number of their premium

Adelaide Hills wines alongside other regional

winemakers. To complement the premium

wines, a selection of gourmet food stalls

will be offering a sumptuous range of local

produce unique to the Adelaide Hills region.

A range of beers and other beverages will be

available as well.

As always at Oakbank Racecourse, those wishing

to pack their own gourmet picnic will be welcome

to set up a prime picnic spot trackside. There

will be plenty of family friendly fun on offer

with an animal petting zoo, pony rides, face

painting and Stable Stars Kids Club.

in its 139th year, with the iconic Easter Racing

Carnival first held in 1876 – an event which

regularly attracts more than 80,000 visitors

annually and qualifies as the world’s biggest

picnic race meeting.

The ‘Oakbank Experience’ is unique, offering a

The PaddockFollowing the successful introduction of

‘The Paddock’ last Easter, the enclosure will be

back at the 2015 Easter Carnival. The Paddock

is a stylish yet laid back area where visitors can

enjoy local gourmet foods, Adelaide Hills wines

and entertainment in a beautifully styled enclosure

that encapsulates the feel of a luxury country picnic.

A valuable benefit of being a member of the

Oakbank Racing Club is that entry into the

Paddock is free. Bearers of Oakbank members,

members guest and members crossover passes

will be entitled to free and priority entry into

the Paddock on both days of the Easter Carnival.


Non-members have the option of becoming an

honorary member for the day by pre-purchasing

a Day Membership Pass from the Oakbank website

in the lead up to Easter, or a cross over pass

from the secretary’s office on race day.

The vintage inspired area will again be located

on the lawns between the members grandstand

and the horse stall area and will provide visitors

with a space to indulge in seasonal Adelaide Hills

food, quality wine from Golding, Sidewood and

Somerled, Lion Nathan beers and a chic setting to

meet with fellow race-goers. Gather your friends

The Races have long been synonymous with

stunning fashions. This year’s Oakbank Easter

Monday holds added significance in the fashion

ranks with the event featuring as an automatic

qualifying heat of the state wide Fashion at

The Races competition searching for South

Australia’s most stylish racegoer.

The lucky winner of Oakbank’s Fashions on the

Field will progress to the Fashion at The Races

final at Morphettville in May 2015, where they’ll

be treated to hospitality at SAJC’s Derby Day

and two nights accommodation at the Oaks

Plaza Pier Glenelg.

Up for grabs in the final is a brand new Alfa Romeo

MiTo thanks to Belcar valued at $24,500. With the

runner-up taking away an extravagant $3000

race day wardrobe from Perri Cutten.

• Gates open at 10am on The Hills Gourmet Gallop

and 7am on Easter meetings.

• Packages commence half an hour prior to the

1st Race and conclude at the end of the last race.

• A 15% non-refundable deposit is required upon

booking for all hospitality package bookings

except for the Easter Monday Young Members

Marquee which requires full payment upon

booking. All payments are non-refundable.

• Dietary requirements must be confirmed upon

booking or confirmation of final numbers.

• Tickets will be provided upon receipt of full

payment – minimum five working days prior

to the event.

• BYO beverages are not accepted in the

grandstand, marquees or hospitality areas
