NOVEMBER 2010 Homework Helpers: Tutor local students of all ages in social studies, science, English, and math. Volunteers are paired with children based on subject interest. Help children with their homework and inspire them! (TUESDAY, 2, 9, 16, and 30 NOVEMBER 1800-2000) Feeding America San Diego: We will be sorting and stocking the Feeding Amer- ica San Diego warehouse to make sure our local San Diegans in need are fed. Help sort and package food for distribution to food banks throughout San Diego. Kids are welcome ages 6 and up. (WEDNESDAY, 3 NOVEMBER 1800-2000) (40 VOLUNTEERS MAX) Special Olympics Fall Games: The Special Olympics Fall Games are here! Vol- unteers are needed to help set up for events, support athletes and venues throughout the day, and to assist with some tear down following the games. (SATURDAY, 6 NOVEMBER approx 0730-1430) Sunrise Senior Living Center: Sunrise of La Jolla is an assisted living community for seniors. Volunteer to facilitate games such as bingo, cards, etc. and to spend time chatting with residents one on one. (WEDNESDAY, 10 NOVEMBER 1800- 2000) Operation Love-life: A fun, interactive, educational group discussing hot topics on dating, relationships, and marriage. FREE dinner, games, and prizes! Will take place in Game Room #2 at Pacific Beacon on Naval Base San Diego on WEDNESDAY, 10 NOVEMBER from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Must have own transporta- tion. Help transport food and supplies from the current warehouse to the new location located nearby. FREE lunch, snacks, and water will be provided. Help out for as long as you can; if you require transportation you must stay the entire time. (SATURDAY, 13 NOVEMBER 0900-1700) Neighborhood Exchange: We have partnered up with the San Diego Food Bank! Volunteers needed for organizing food for hundreds of families for a free food giveaway. Volunteers are also needed for set up, carrying food to cars and breakdown. (THURSDAY, 18 NOVEMBER 0845-1300) (25 VOLUNTEERS MAX) Knott’s Berry Farm Amusement Park: Join us for a day at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park! FREE entry for active duty military and one guest; up to six addi- tional tickets can be purchased for a discounted price of $15. Plan to leave the park at approx 1800 to return to San Diego. Families welcome! Children must be seven (7) years or older to ride the bus. (SATURDAY, 20 NOVEMBER 0830- 2000) (21 PARTICIPANTS MAX) Thanksgiving at Sunrise Senior Living Center: Spend Thanksgiving Day volun- teering with the residents of Sunrise Senior Living Center in La Jolla.
