Health Impact Assessment Now Available In September the Health Impact Assessment (HIA) forGlobeville Elyria and Swansea was released Produced by theDepartment of Environmental Health the HIA provides aframework to better understand how environmentalphysical economic and social conditions determine health inorder to inform public policy and decision making Throughresident participation in the neighborhood planning and HIAprocess the following health factors were identified as topconcerns and are analyzed in the HIA

CDOT Releases SDEISOn August 29th CDOT released the Supplemental DraftEnvironmental Impact Study (SDEIS) This SDEIS identifiesenvironmental impacts not previously identified and includesa detailed analysis of the social environmental andeconomic effects of the project alternatives as required bythe federal government according to the NationalEnvironmental Policy Act (NEPA) It also explains whichalternatives have been eliminated from consideration andwhy The community is being encouraged to providecomments regarding the projects preliminarilyidentified preferred alternative (the Partial Cover LoweredAlternative) by October 31st (NEW DATE) You can downloadthe SDEIS by clicking here or by visiting a variety of locationsin the community CDOT hosted 3 public hearings in the lastseveral weeks to gather comments from the communityComments can also be made by going online You can use thecomment form to submit your comments or use the printableform and mail it in CDOT also has a new project officelocated at 3501 East 46th Avenue which is staffed Mondaythru Saturday

Health Impact Assessment Now Available In September the Health Impact Assessment (HIA) forGlobeville Elyria and Swansea was released Produced by theDepartment of Environmental Health the HIA provides aframework to better understand how environmentalphysical economic and social conditions determine health inorder to inform public policy and decision making Throughresident participation in the neighborhood planning and HIAprocess the following health factors were identified as topconcerns and are analyzed in the HIA

CDOT Releases SDEISOn August 29th CDOT released the Supplemental DraftEnvironmental Impact Study (SDEIS) This SDEIS identifiesenvironmental impacts not previously identified and includesa detailed analysis of the social environmental andeconomic effects of the project alternatives as required bythe federal government according to the NationalEnvironmental Policy Act (NEPA) It also explains whichalternatives have been eliminated from consideration andwhy The community is being encouraged to providecomments regarding the projects preliminarilyidentified preferred alternative (the Partial Cover LoweredAlternative) by October 31st (NEW DATE) You can downloadthe SDEIS by clicking here or by visiting a variety of locationsin the community CDOT hosted 3 public hearings in the lastseveral weeks to gather comments from the communityComments can also be made by going online You can use thecomment form to submit your comments or use the printableform and mail it in CDOT also has a new project officelocated at 3501 East 46th Avenue which is staffed Mondaythru Saturday

Denvers Corridor of Opportunity The Corridor of Opportunity represents a nearly 23‐mile stretch between linking I‐70 and East Commuter line from Denver Union Station to Denver InternationalAirport The corridor is one of the most compelling commercial investment opportunities in theworld with thousands of developable acres With nine commuter‐rail stations along RTDsEast Line alone (slated to open in 2016) future plans for the area include transit‐orienteddevelopment with housing strategic locations for corporate headquarters and abundantoptions for additional open space The variety of opportunities both existing and future make this corridor a focal point forDenvers future economy with nearly 40000 new jobs through new and expandedbusinesses and $26 billion in economic impact expected over the next three decadesincluding $134 million annually in additional city revenue

CDOT Releases SDEISOn August 29th CDOT released the Supplemental DraftEnvironmental Impact Study (SDEIS) This SDEIS identifiesenvironmental impacts not previously identified and includesa detailed analysis of the social environmental andeconomic effects of the project alternatives as required bythe federal government according to the NationalEnvironmental Policy Act (NEPA) It also explains whichalternatives have been eliminated from consideration andwhy The community is being encouraged to providecomments regarding the projects preliminarilyidentified preferred alternative (the Partial Cover LoweredAlternative) by October 31st (NEW DATE) You can downloadthe SDEIS by clicking here or by visiting a variety of locationsin the community CDOT hosted 3 public hearings in the lastseveral weeks to gather comments from the communityComments can also be made by going online You can use thecomment form to submit your comments or use the printableform and mail it in CDOT also has a new project officelocated at 3501 East 46th Avenue which is staffed Mondaythru Saturday
CDOT also is continuing work on a parallel process toevaluate funding and procurement options for theconstruction of the I‐70 East project A telephone townhalland townhall meeting on this topic are being planned for thisfall More information will be available in the coming weeks

East Rail Line On September 13th RTD and Denver Transit Partners hostedan open house to give residents an update on theconstruction progress on the East Rail Line Residentsenjoyed breakfast as they had the chance to see heavyconstruction equipment view final train station designs andlearn about the new train cars To learn more about theproject updates download the Construction Update
