SOCIAL WORK SERVICES
Quote of the Month: “So much wasted time” - David Cassidy on his death bed IMPORTANT: Your new Medicare Card is inside Why am I getting a new Medicare Card? By law Medicare no longer needs SSN on cards. Your new card has a new number that is unique to you and used only for your Medicare coverage. What do I need to do? • Securely destroy your old Medicare card . Protect yourself by making sure no one can get your
personal information from your old card. • Start using new Medicare card. Start using right away and in the same way as old card. Your
coverage and benefits remain the same. Doctors and health care providers and Medicare approved plans will accept your new cards the next time you need care.
Have other coverage like a Medicare Advantage Plan, Prescription Drug Plan, or Medicaid? You’ll still use your existing plan card when you get care or prescriptions. You will need this new Medicare card if you want to join, leave, or switch to a different plan. You may be asked to show your new Medicare card if you need hospital services. Where can I get more information? To get more information about your new Medicare card or if you have questions about Medicare, visit Medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).
