Ms. Minda Xu joined The McGraw-Hill Companies in 2000. As
a member of the Associate Development Program, she had
rotational assignments throughout the corporation, including
Global Strategy, Standard & Poor's Corporate Governance
Services (in England), and McGraw-Hill Construction, where she
helped establish a new business unit, Integrated Solutions and
Consulting. In 2002, she was promoted to her current position
to lead McGraw-Hill Construction's China initiative, develop
strategic alliances and identify new market opportunities.
Ms. Xu began her career as a management consultant for the
Boston Consulting Group in its Shanghai office with an industry
focus on the media, publishing and consumer goods sectors.
She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BE in
Industrial Management from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Mr. Pang Lu has worked at China International Contractors
Association (CHINCA) as the Secretary General since 2002.
Before joining CHINCA, Mr. Pang worked in the Ministry of
Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation as deputy director of
the Division of Central Africa, the Division of East Africa, and
director of the Division of Southeast Africa. Mr. Pang graduated
from Beijing Foreign Studies University, and from 1991 to 1992
he studied the courses of international trade and project
management at Quebec University in Montreal, Canada.

Mr. Robert Ivy, FAIA, joined Architectural Record as editor-in-
chief in 1996. Under his editorial leadership, the publication has
emerged as the most widely read architectural journal worldwide.
In 2003, the magazine captured the American Society of
Magazine Editors' National Magazine Award for General
Excellence, their top award.
Previously, Mr. Ivy pursued parallel careers as both an architect
with an active practice and as a critic for national publications.
Mr. Ivy is currently a fellow of the American Institute of Architects,
the Philippine Institute of Architects, the Institute for Urban
Design, a former regent of the American Architectural Foundation,
and a peer reviewer for the U.S. General Services Administration.
Mr. Ivy graduated with honors from the University of the South
and from Tulane University, where he received a degree in
architecture.

James H. McGraw, IV (Jay) is the group publisher for McGraw-
Hill Construction’s publications, which include Engineering
News-Record, Architectural Record, Design-Build and ten
regional publications.
Mr. James H. McGraw, IV joined The McGraw-Hill Companies
in 1979 in Business Week’s advertising sales department. He
worked in the magazine’s Dallas, Denver, and Los Angeles sales
offices before moving to Business Week’s New York headquar-
ters in 1984. In 1999, Mr. McGraw was appointed publisher of
Engineering News-Record and Design-Build magazines. He
assumed his present position in 2001.
In addition to his current responsibilities, Mr. McGraw is a
member of The McGraw-Hill Companies’ Pension Investment
Committee. He also serves on the board of directors of
American Business Media, the Audit Bureau of Circulations, the
Business Press Education Foundation, and the Society of
American Military Engineers, as well as the advisory board for
the New York University Publishing Program.

As senior vice president of McGraw-Hill Construction and general
manager of Sweets, Mr. Howard Mager is responsible for
strengthening the market position of Sweets and leading the
new building product manufacturer growth initiative for McGraw-
Hill Construction.
Mr. Mager joined McGraw-Hill in 1970 as a sales trainee. He
has held numerous positions in sales, publishing, and senior
management. Prior to his current position, he was publisher of
Engineering News-Record and Design-Build, and was group
publisher of the Construction Publication Group of McGraw-Hill
from 1991 to 1995. In 1997, Howard worked with the China
International Contractors Association (CHINCA) to initiate a
China/U.S. Construction Summit, and was instrumental in the
spearheading of new initiatives including the launch of enr.com
and Design-Build magazine.
Mr. Mager is active on a number of professional boards and
organizations such as the Construction Industry Roundtable, the
International Road Federation, the New York Society of Military
Engineers, and many others.

As editor-in-chief of Engineering News-Record (ENR), Ms. Janice
L. Tuchman directs the editorial operations of the weekly print
magazine and its website, enr.com, which is updated daily. She
works on strategic planning and develops new editorial products,
publications and events.
Ms. Tuchman directed the editorial team that won the 2002 Neal
award from American Business Media for Best News Coverage
for ENR’s continuing series of stories on the 9/11 disasters. She
fielded two embedded reporters to cover construction’s mission
in the War in Iraq in 2003, and that coverage was a finalist in the
2004 Neal Awards.
Ms. Tuchman co-authored a book called Exposed Structure in
Building Design and has spoken frequently at industry events.
She serves on the Industry Advisory Committee of the
Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Management
at Columbia University. Ms. Tuchman earned Bachelors and
Masters degrees in journalism from the University of Colorado
in Boulder.

Mr. David Johnson joined the McGraw-Hill Companies in 1986
in a sales & marketing capacity at Business Week Magazine.
Prior to that he spent over 10 years in sales and sales
management positions with Procter & Gamble and Unilever. As
Business Week's director of Worldwide Special Sections, he
traveled extensively in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He
spent considerable time working with overseas economic
development organizations in Ireland, England, France, German,
Turkey, Greece, Italy, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Mr.
Johnson worked closely with those organizations to assist them
in reaching their marketing communication objectives through
advertising, conference sponsorships and website development.
He joined McGraw-Hill Construction in 2000 and is currently
responsible for Conferences and Business Development
initiatives. Mr. Johnson has worked closely with the 2008 Beijing
Olympic Organizing Committee in helping them connect with
construction industry professionals here in North America. Mr.
Johnson holds a MBA degree from Fordham University in New
York City.

Mr. Huang Wei became vice minister of the Ministry of
Construction in August, 2003. He is in charge of the construc-
tion industry of China. He previously served as vice principal and
executive vice principal of South East University in China, the
head of the Construction Bureau of Jiangsu province, and
deputy governor of Jiangsu province. Mr. Huang is a doctorial
mentor, was a senior visiting scholar to the University of
California, Berkeley and also served as a specially-appointed
professor of the Changjiang Scholar Rewarding Program. Mr.
Huang earned the title of Middle and Young Aged Expert with
Outstanding Performance at the National Level in 1997 and has
received 13 scientific and technological progress awards at the
provincial and ministerial level, and 2 national awards. Mr. Huang
received a Ph. D. from the South East University in 1994.
Since 2002, Mr. Chen Jian has served as the assistant minister
of Commerce. From 1998 to 2002, he held the title of Director
General of the Department of Foreign Economic Cooperation
of MOFCOM. From 1994 to 1998, Mr. Chen was assistant
president and vice president of the China National Overseas
Engineering Corporation. Prior to 1994, Mr. Chen served as a
commercial counselor to China’s Embassy in Argentina.

Dr. Daniel Chao is based in Shanghai and has responsibility for
all Bechtel activities in Greater China, including its joint ventures,
Bechtel-CITIC Engineering, Inc. and Pacific Engineers &
Constructors, Ltd. (Taiwan). He is also a senior vice president of
Bechtel Group, Inc. and chairman of the Board of Alterra
Partners, an affiliated aviation development company. Prior to his
current position, Dr. Chao was an executive vice president and
managing director of Bechtel Enterprises, the company’s
financing and development subsidiary with responsibility for
Bechtel’s equity investments and project financings in
infrastructure world-wide.
Dr. Chao has spent 25 years in corporate management, project
development and finance, corporate finance and banking, equity
investments, and asset and risk management. Dr. Chao holds a
BA from Stanford University, an MA M.A.L.D., and PhD from the
Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and an Advanced
Professional Certificate (Business) from New York University.

Professor Du Ping is the director-general of the Department of
Comprehensive Planning Office of the Leading Group for
Western Region Development of the State Council of China.
Since 1982, Prof. Du has been engaged in the planning and
management of policy research in the Planning Bureau for
Regional Cooperation, the Regional Comprehensive Planning
Department, the State Land Regional Department of the State
Planning Committee and the Regional Economy Institute. Prof.
Du has also been involved in drafting relevant plans, strategies
and policies regarding China’s environmental protection, state
land development and great west development. He had also
been in charge of drafting many special planning programs and
major research for the State Planning Committee.
