It is intended for Mechanical users regardless of the CAD softw
Course Objectives:
The prerequisite Introduction to Mechanical training (or equivalent
is assumed.
This course is intended to expand on the thermal analysis capabilitie
in the introduction to Mechanical training course material.
Although the underlying thermal analysis capabilities of the solver is
MAPDL, this course is distinct from the Heat Transfer Analysis with M
training course.

ANSYS Workbenchprovides a platform for various ANSYS applications.
Workbench provides bi-directional parametric integration with CAD.
Examples of Workbench Applications:
Mechanical: performs FE analyses in various disciplines (e.g. structural, thermal, etc
DesignModeler: creates and modifies geometry as preprocessor for analysis model
Meshing: creates structural and CFD meshes.
CFD: using CFX and Fluent solvers.
Design Exploration:performs optimizations using either deterministic or probabilisof experiments, six sigma, response surfaces, etc..
Explict STR : performs explicit dynamics analyses.

The Units menu in Workbench:
Allows access to predefined unit systems
Allows the creation of custom unit systems
Controls unit display for Engineering Data,
Parameters and Charts
Activate the Units System dialog to control
Units can be display in the Active Project System or as they were
defined in their source (e.g. CAD system)
