We had a rapport with bar owners and managers whose bars were being branded since they had all attended training. Training was a prerequisite if a pub was to be branded. We also had the address and telephone numbers of most bar owners/employees. For these strategic reasons, Capital Colours Creative Designs Ltd contracted us to lead the branding work which was hugely a success.

Dear Sir/Madam,

RE: INTRODUCTION TO FUTUREBRAND, AN INTRODUCTION TO THE FUTURE

FutureBrand Ltd is an indigenous Kenyan owned registered company. We specialise in offering Training, Wall Branding, Painting, Renovations and Promotional services. We have a permanent staff of eight. We are all registered members of the Professional Trainers Association of Kenya (PTAK). Training is our niche and has led us to learn and understand the arts of painting and wall branding. We at FutureBrand want to have a positive impact on everyone we serve.

We formed FutureBrand Ltd in May 2011 as a result of our consulting work with East African Breweries Limited (Eabl). For three years, we carried out training and branding campaigns on behalf of Eabl. During the three years we managed to successfully complete the following:

INTERVENTION OUTLETS COVERED 1 Senator Base Poa Training 1 1,000 pubs 2 Senator Base Poa Branding 1 1,000 pubs 3 Guinness Bar staff Training 1,000 pubs 4 Senator Base Poa Training 11 2,000 pubs 5 Senator Base Poa Branding 11 2,000 pubs 6 Senator Base Poa Training 111 3,000 pubs 7 Senator Base Poa Branding 111 3,000 pubs TOTAL 7,000 pubs TRAINED, 6,000 BRANDED

Senator Keg is Eabl’s draught beer made for the low end market and is consumed mainly in poor habitats. Serious concerns of hygiene and customer service prompted Eabl to contract JKUAT through Tusker Academy to carry out a countrywide training campaign to address these two concerns among many others. This campaign was dubbed Senator Base Poa Training. The first one was very successful and soon the second and third followed. Swivel Media Ltd, a well established name in the branding industry did the second one. We have worked for both companies as Trainers. Eabl through the Guinness brand contracted us to carry out a bar staff training dubbed Guinness Bar Staff Training in Nairobi through Tusker Academy. The training took place in three different locations in the city and invitation letters were sent to selected pubs.

After carrying out training, Capital Colours Creative Designs Ltd, a well established name in the branding industry got the branding contract from Eabl.

1. BAR STAFF TRAINING 101

After visiting 7,000 pubs and interacting with thousands of bar employees, we realised that the problems they encounter are relatively the same. We are also aware that our country has recently passed the Alcohol Control Act popularly known as The Mututho Law. A significant portion of bar owners, managers and employees don’t understand this piece of legislation and the impact it will have on their work. With these facts in mind, we created training manual entitled: Bar Staff Training 101. The manual addresses the following fundamentals:

• Alcohol Awareness • Sanitation • Safety • The GUEST • Personal Appearance • Suggestive selling • The GREETING • Taking the order

• Register Operations • Bar set up • Ordering procedure • Drink basics • Glassware and Ice • Fire Safety • Service time • The Mututho Law

OBJECTIVE

Our objective is to add value in your establishment by improving service delivery consequently increasing your profits and off course we are determined to raise the low service levels of our retail alcohol industry. We are doing all these at a very reasonable fee (call or email for a quotation).

STRATEGY

Our strategy is to hold classroom sessions with your staff. If you have more than ten employees, more than one training session will be required if all your staff is to be trained. The training will be delivered by two highly experienced trainers and with the aid of a laptop, projector and flip chart. Trainees will be given notebooks and pens to take notes. Vigorous interactive training will be carried out for a period of time not exceeding 5 hours. Management will have time to address any arising issue.

Once you contact us and we agree on terms, we will make three visits to your bar during business hours and make observations. We will then mould our training to better address specific areas in your pub that are wanting in a way or another. We will also make visits after the training to monitor whether training is being implemented, a process we refer to as Embedding.

BENEFITS

By the end of the training all your employees will be equipped with the latest high standard skills required in the competitive retail alcohol industry. These skills will help raise the pub’s status in terms of service rankings and is highly likely to translate to an increase of profits. Pubs are ranked by their customer levels of satisfaction. Our job is to help you better satisfy your customers and make lots of money.

All the trainees will be awarded certificates upon completion of the training. There will also be a nicely framed certificate for the establishment. This certificate will be placed strategically along the decision making corridor hot spots; positively affecting your bar image. Apart from the training, we issue the management of our clients with a printed copy of 489 Ways to cut costs in restaurants, cafes, clubs, catering, Hotels and Bars. A booklet meant to help minimize operational costs and fraud by employees. This booklet is a must have for all bar owners and managers.

We will also help you come up with a bar policy and have each employee sign against it. The sign signifies comprehension of the policy and dedication to uphold it. This policy will also help your customers understand your bar and know how to conduct themselves accordingly. Lastly this policy will positively affect your bar image. Bar image has a direct effect on performance.

OUR PLEA

We have seen training transform ordinary bars into cash cows for their owners. Contact us for a quote and you will realise how cheap it will cost you to add value to your business. All bars sell alcohol, most have adequate decor and ambience, but at the end of the day some perform way above others. We know the secrets bar owners and managers use to get ahead in this competitive industry. Engage us and you will not regret it.

OUR VISION

We plan to train one hundred pubs by the end of 2012. During this time we will form an online community of trained bars and amass a database of trained bar employees. We will come up with ways to use these data to the best interest of all. Our long term goal is to make Kenyan entertainment joints make a mark globally.

2. FIRE SAFETY TRAINING 101

THE STUDY

After a study of several companies and schools, we observed that most organisations do not have a fire policy and in the event of a fire, there is no clear action path. Some even do not have necessary equipment to fight fire. Those who have necessary equipment have not sensitized their staff or students on how to use them. Others have old equipment that will be useless in the event of a fire.

THE NEED

We have seen several schools grounded by fire, case in point Buruburu Secondary School. Industrial Fires are a common occurrence in our country; Kariobangi Paint industries have witnessed numerous cases of accidental fire. There is a need to train people on how to prevent fire and how to deal with it in case it cannot be prevented.

THE PLAN

With the help of The Kenya Fire Brigade, G4S Fire Fighting Department and numerous other companies, we have come up with a Fire Safety Training Package that addresses the above need.

OBJECTIVE

This training covers the following:

• What is fire

• How fire start

• Leading causes of fire

• Fire drills and Fire Exits

• Controlling a fire and Emergency procedures

• Extinguishment Theory and Evacuation Plans

• Types of Fire Extinguishers

• Reporting an Emergency

STRATEGY

This Training takes one day, once we agree on terms; we will have a classroom session with your staff/students. Two highly trained Trainers will deliver the training and with the aid of a laptop, projector and ip chart. An Official from The Kenya Fire Brigade or G4S Fire Fighting Department will address the class and then demonstrations will follow.

BENEFITS

After successfully completing the training, all the trainees will be equipped with skills to prevent and fight fire. These skills are important as they could save lives and avoid colossal losses normally associated with fires. We are doing all these at a very reasonable fee (call or email for a quotation ).

OUR PLEA

It is better to be safe than sorry. This training will help many organisations avoid disasters that could have otherwise been prevented. Don’t wait for a fire to occur then start putting safety measures. The time to put those measures is now and we are here to guide you all the way. Safety first is our slogan on this. Kenya is always ill prepared when it comes to Disaster Management and Preparedness, many like to blame the government not realising that they also have a role to play.

VISION

We derive a lot of joy in the fact that we are helping prevent disasters that would have caused serious losses in terms of lives and property. We want to help as many organisations as possible. We are currently collecting data of fire incidents in Kenya and the losses these incidents caused. This will help us highlight the need for capacity building in fire prevention.

Call or email for enquiries.
