March 23, 2015 l Millarville Community School 130 Millarville Road 4039387832 http://millarville.fsd38.ab.ca Principal’s Message Last Thursday the whole community came together to celebrate our Western Heritage. The Spring Roundup is a perfect example of how our community supports public education. From the generous donations from families and businesses for our raffles and silent auction items to the awesome turn out, it was a huge success. Your time, donations and purchases helped to raise over $9000 for the Society for Millarville School Fundraising. I was almost brought to tears when the 50/50 draw winnings were donated back to the school in support of our learning programs. We are humbled and honoured by everyone’s effort and support. Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts! As we reflect on this success, we would also like to share the success of a long time educator here at MCS. Mrs. Pam Irving has taught in Millarville almost her entire career and is retiring at the end of this month after 20 years here as a teacher and Learning Coach. Her dedication to the students in this school has helped many become who they are today and she will be sorely missed. We will be holding a celebration on May 29 th and inviting Pam back to say her good byes. Please watch for more information about this celebration. Ms. Karli Alm, most recently from Turner Valley School, will be joining MCS’s team as our new Learning Coach. Please give her a warm MCS welcome after Spring Break! Principal’s  Message    Last  Thursday  the  whole  community  came  together  to  celebrate  our  Western  Heritage.    The  Spring  Round-‐up  is  a  perfect  example  of  how  our  community  supports  public  education. Thank-‐you  from  the  bottom  of  our  hearts! We  will  be  holding  a  celebration  on  May  29th  and  inviting  Pam  back  to  say  her  good-‐byes. Glenn  Gibson  ([email protected])    Be  Awesome,  Be  Better,  Be  a  Team  Player
