MEMBER HONOUR

1. Mr.D.Varada Reddy (V-061) our senior Memberhas been asked to represent the Rotary Interna-tional President Gary Huang at the Conferenceof District 9220 to be held at Mauritius, where500-600 Rotarians from 9 Countries are going to participate. The Conference will be held for 4 days commencing on 29thApril and concluding on 2nd May, 2015.

2. Mrs.M.Kanakavalli W/o.Mr.M.Ramgopal (R-51)has been nominated as "Member of TelephoneAdvisory Committee for VisakhapatnamTelecom/Telephone District", by the Ministry ofCommunications on IT, Govt. of India.

When a fun filled and activity filled month has ended, We "March"ed on in style and the efforts were rewardedwith your appreciation and some brickbats too,but then it was a fulfilling month. The talk by Sri Amit DasGupta, the former diplomat and author on TRANSFORMATIVE THINKING was well attended and the

presence of the senior members was so heart warming. The Committee was also of the opinion that the expenditureis better spent on the members and so as the huge Mega Tambola on the day, prior to Ugadi. The response wasoverwhelming and we were frantically getting the chairs, tables and pads organized. Thank you Club members forsuch a lovely response. If there is any shortcoming, forgive us and we will do better next time around.

The next day, in the true telugu tradition, we welcomed the new year with Ugadi Pacchadi and Panchanga Sravanam, followed by breakfast.

That weekend was fun filled but tiring. The musical program by Dr Sharathchandra was to say the least-Melodious. It was glorious trip down memorylane, for all those who watched telugu movies of the 50s to the 70s and heard the legendary Ghantasala. The setting was perfect at Jubilee deck.,a gentle breeze, friends , a little spirit and the mood was set .We are in fact lucky to have such an environment and it is my earnest desire that theClub members should participate in such programmes in greater numbers. The setting is awesome (as the younger generation would call it) and weare blessed to be members of a Club with such a green environment.

This also reminds me that the tree plantation is almost complete and the results will be visible in a few months time and total greenery would be infull bloom in a few years. The hard work put in by the Hon Secretary is admirable and of course special thanks to the man with the greenest thumbthat I know - Mr. Raja Babu of SUNRAY. He is a walking encyclopedia who of course works free for the Club.

The culmination of the month was the Mela /Fun Carnival by the ladies committee, which again saw a record crowd in attendance and stalls with avariety of items in stock. Mrs.Vani Murali and her team also deserve a huge round of applause for the stupendous effort.

This is what happens when the month is so fun filled and busy-you end up with long reports

Yours in Service,
