Has Christ been born or
renewed in you this Christ-
mas? Was your best pre-
sent the presence of Jesus?
The Christmas season
isn’t finished yet! It contin-
ues from Christmas Day to
the Day of the Epiphany on
January 6th.
As in the song “The 12
Days of Christmas” we are
given not a day or two, but
a generous gift of 12 days to
celebrate and live the amaz-
ing grace of the living God
in our Lord and Savior, Je-
sus Christ.
Then, the season of
Epiphany comes and gives
us an opportunity to contin-
ue the theme by considering
what it means, and how we
express the message of
Christmas in living and shar-
ing our faith.
Show your love for Him
this season.
Share your gifts.
Find a ministry that
needs you.
Let your
giving be a
reflection of
the birth of
the Christ
Child.
This is a
season that lasts forever!
This is the year that be-
gins eternity.
R E F L E C T T H E L I G H T !
S T R A W P O L L S F O R 2 0 1 6 January at worship.
Straw polls are question-
naires that are used to gauge
the sense of the congregation
as to how God is calling us to
minister. Results will be post-
ed and used by our visioning
groups and our church council
to assist in our planning.
Come and fill one out each
Sunday in January to make
God’s voice heard through
you!
Any that you miss will be
available on the announce-
ment tables.

That’s why my hero
Lyle Schaller says that
when you ask a congre-
gation, “What do me
need more of around
here?”, The answer is
always “Bible Study!”
But when another Bi-
ble Study is prepared,
the faithful who come to
everything are the only
one’s who show up.
Do we know what we
What is most im-
portant for us in 2016?
What is the first thing
that comes to mind?
I think many, if not
most, of us would say
“world peace”.
We are very good at
knowing the right things
to say. Ask any beauty
contestant. But that is
not always what we real-
ly want to live for.
we want, what we would
place a the center of our
lives and turn to in times
of need,?
Jesus is the way that
leads to all good thing.
We respond naturally to
God’s sacrifice on the
cross with an absolute
desire to please God.
That’s a life lived with
importance.

Christmas was wonder-
ful this year. We focused
on giving to others in our
community and in the
world and on celebrating
the greatest gift of all
time:
God has entered into
human history and given
Himself to give us new
life.
We thank God, and we
thank all who made these
celebrations so meaningful!

THE VISION CORNER
What if we provided the funds to pay our
mortgage, support all our existing ministries, and
call an associate pastor and a minister of music?
What gifts and strengths would we want those
persons to have? What new ministries is God
calling us to do? Who could we reach toward
realizing our mis.sion to introduce people to new
life in Jesus Christ that grows into enthusiastic
living?
Send your thoughts to [email protected] or call
them in to the church at 909 599-3978, or speak
with Pastor Berkedal or a
member of our Church
Council about them. Pray
about how you can help
realize our mission.
This month’s photo is not of Faith Lutheran Church. It is a lesson to us. What would stop
you from worshiping? The people at this church in the Philippines have given their answer.
